Pokémon GO: Players are hoping for an exciting event tomorrow night

Mystery teasers have been shared in Pokémon GO that could indicate a new event or feature tomorrow. What could the coaches expect?

What are these teasers? Pokémon GO shared two short teasers via Twitter. Both look like shots of a trainer walking outside in the dark. Then hordes of wild Pokémon suddenly appear.

In the first teaser, that was a flock of wild eF-eM, the rare bat-type Pokémon. The flock emerges after the first eF-eM is fed a Knurp. The video also shows the numbers 10, 25, 05:36 and 06:00 PM.

Trainers therefore quickly suspected that this was a reference to tomorrow’s limelight hour, on October 25th. could act at 18:00. You can see the teaser here:

Another teaser came out on Friday night, this time full of Magikarp. Here, too, the 10 and the 25 could be seen, as well as the time 06:55 PM – i.e. 18:55. You can see the teaser here:

That in turn could indicate the end of the limelight hour that actually puts Shuppet in the spotlight. However, the announcement of the event mentioned that you should bring your buddy to experience something special at the beginning and end of the class.

But what exactly could it be about? We looked at three theories from the Pokémon GO subreddit, TheSilphRoad.

Theory 1: Secret event with eF-eM and Magikarp

What are the pros? The theory is that it could just be a few “bonus spawn minutes” with eF-eM and Magikarp. This is conceivable insofar as it is precisely these two monsters that can be seen in the teaser. eF-eM could appear at the beginning, Magikarp at the end.

eF-eM is now also available as Shiny – but it is rare

Both monsters, but especially eF-eM, should be welcome spawns – after all, both monsters need 400 candies to evolve, and eF-eM has been very rare until now. Only what role the buddy would play is rather unclear.

Theory 2: Pokémon horde is based on buddy Pokémon

What are the pros? The second theory says that eF-eM and Magikarp could be more of a placeholder in the teaser and you can influence which monsters suddenly appear in the form of a mass encounter: “In next week’s spotlight hour it says that you bring your buddy for a surprise should. eF-eM & Magikarp are fairly common buddy Pokemon…I wonder if your buddy attracts the same species?” suggests one user (via reddit).

You choose a buddy, feed a Knursp – and in the short minutes at the beginning and end of the spotlight hour the respective monster shows up.

The inclusion of Knursp would speak in favor of this, as well as the fact that you should “bring your buddy with you” to the limelight hour. However, that would be a pretty powerful feature if there were complete freedom here – because that way you could very quickly secure candies from rare monsters.

Theory 3: The shapeshifter “Zorua” plays a role

What are the pros? In the subreddit “TheSilphRoad” several users mention the monster “Zorua” – from their point of view this monster could also be behind the hordes. As one user suggests, “If you take your buddy for a walk during spotlight hour, you’ll be swarmed by copies of them, but if you click on one, they’ll flee. However, there are Zorua hidden among them who look like your buddy and don’t flee” (via reddit).

This is a shapeshifter that can disguise itself as both a human and a Pokémon to confuse its enemies. It also has an evolution called Zoroark.

In the main games, Zorua has the Mirage ability, which it uses to mimic the appearance of the last capable Pokémon. It would be conceivable here that Zorua copies his own buddy – and then suddenly appears in the wild.

However, the fact that Zorua is discussed at all may also have something to do with data mining. Because data miners have already found various references to the shapeshifter and it was expected that the dark monster could appear at the Halloween event.

So far, however, Zorua is missing from Pokémon GO, just like in the announcements about the elements of the ongoing Halloween event. Could this be how the monster ends up in the game?

The puzzling isn’t likely to go on for much longer, as Tuesday night will see the spotlight hour, which the teasers will likely hint at. We’ll keep you posted here if more clues come up!

It’s not the first time that Pokémon GO has used special videos as teasers. The Ultra Beasts, for example, were presented as freaking creepy.
