Pokémon GO: Player finds Shiny and catches it directly

Shinys are a rare find in Pokémon GO that players want to catch right away and maybe even capture with a screenshot. One player on Reddit did just that, but later he noticed that his Pokéball looked different than usual.

What happened? In the Pokémon GO subreddit, user kieranob talks about his last shiny catch. He tells how he found a Houndoom as a shiny, right next to a golden Razz Berry and an Ultra Ball. He caught the Houndoom and looked at the screenshot again. You can see the post here:

In the screenshot, the user notices that his Pokéball looks quite strange. It glitters and glows like a bowling ball. The community finds the bug quite amusing and for some it is not the first time.

The Pokéball is a little reminiscent of the teracrystallization feature that was introduced with Crimson and Purple: Pokémon gets a new type 10 years after the fairies

The community knows this

How does the community react to the glitch? A user shares his own picture of the graphic error. The user Luhha shows a screenshot with a glittering Superball. In the background is a shiny Galapaflos that also lights up to match the glitter effect. All he says is: This has been happening for ages.

  • New Contribution-244: Maybe I should pay attention to the shiny animations during the upcoming Popplio event. Because I never really noticed the Poké Ball animation when encountering Shinies.
  • SimplyReaper: No, your Pokéball just turned into a disco ball out of sheer excitement, which is your shiny
  • FluffySheep1234: Weird. Looks like a glitch, but it looks like a teracrystallization pokeball. I’m not a fan of teracrystallization though
  • It is unknown whether this can only happen with shinies or also with normal Pokémon, but the two screenshots from the reddit thread show shiny Pokémon.

Have you ever had a graphical error like this or is this the first time you’ve seen it? Write us your experience in the comments. If you want to see for yourself whether this is possible, you’ll probably have to find shiny Pokémon.
