Starting today, September 6th, the Psychic Extravaganza is on in Pokémon GO with a limited research and 4 new quests. We at MeinMMO have looked at the tasks and rewards behind them and will show you whether the content is worthwhile.
What are the tasks? Starting today, September 6th, 2022, the Psychic Spectacular will take place in Pokémon GO. On this occasion, a corresponding limited research as well as new field research should not be missing.
We have summarized below what tasks await you, what rewards there are and how long you have to solve them.
When is the psycho spectacle? The psycho spectacle starts on September 6th, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. local time and ends on September 12th, 2022 at 8:00 p.m. local time.
The limited research on the psycho-spectacle
What is this research? Just in time for the start of this year’s psychic extravaganza, you’ll find a new limited-time research in your game’s “Today” view. This includes a board with 8 different tasks.
As Niantic announced in advance on the Pokémon GO blog, it will revolve around curveball throws. You have to land a lot of them to solve them.
How long has she been active? You have time until the end of the event, i.e. September 12 at 20:00 local time. Don’t forget to collect your rewards before then, otherwise you’ll lose them once the research is over.
We have summarized all tasks and rewards of the limited research below using the LeekDuck overview:

In addition to limited research, you can also secure four different event field researches at the PokéStops during the Psychic Spectacular. How do you get the tasks?
As with September’s Field Research, these are obtained by rotating the Photo Disc of your PokéStops. You can finally find the tasks in the “Field” view of the game, which you can open by clicking on the binoculars.
The quests can be distinguished from normal research with the help of the note “Event” below the respective tasks. As usual, you have unlimited time to solve the puzzle.

Pygraulon:
As you can easily see from the rewards, Niantic has put the focus on the Psychic Pokémon Pygraulon, especially in the time-limited research. The monster from the 5th game generation can be further developed into Megalon.
So if you want to secure a copy, you will have further opportunities through the limited research and the corresponding event quests. You can recognize Shiny Pygraulon by its pink eyes. The rest of his body is also slightly darker than normal. Pygraulon and Megalon normal (left) and as Shiny (right)
Palimpalim:
With a slightly more challenging task than Pygraulon, by throwing 5 Curveballs in a row you can secure the Psychic Pokémon Palimpalim. This has no further development. Just like Pygraulon, Palimpalim is not particularly strong and therefore rather uninteresting for raids and PvP battles. Thus, the dazzling variant can also score points with this monster. In contrast to Pygraulon, these have been in the game for a little longer. If you are still missing a shiny, you can try your luck with the quests. Otherwise, the Pokémon is not one of the “must haves” in the game.
Dollance:
You can secure the ground and Psychic Pokémon Puppance from the 3rd generation of games with what feels like the easiest task in these event quests. You only have to turn a photo disc 5 times. Incidentally, this can always be the same, so even in areas with few PokéStops, this quest is easy to solve.
With the help of 50 candies you can evolve Puppance into Lepumentas. These two monsters are not particularly strong either, but Puppance can also be found in the game in its dazzling form. This makes the Pokémon particularly interesting for shiny hunters. Since the task is solved quickly and easily, you should try your luck if you want to secure a dazzling example.
Hypno:
Hypno is the evolution of Traumato. However, since this monster can only be found in its pre-evolution as Shiny, you won’t have a chance of encountering Shiny-Hypno. If you’re still missing this Pokémon, you’d better be on the lookout for Traumato in the wild during the Psychic spectacle.

How do you like the tasks and rewards of the time-limited research and the new quests? Will you try to secure Shiny Pygraulon? Or did you prefer to target another Pokémon during the event? Let us know in the comments here on MeinMMO and talk to other trainers about this topic. On Saturday, a fairy Pokémon takes over the game and crashes the psycho spectacle. We’ll show you everything we know about the Piepe party.
