Pokémon GO: Kecleon release today after Community Day

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

Today is Community Day with Igamaro in Pokémon GO. But you should definitely stay in the game afterwards, because the release of a long-awaited monster awaits you: Kecleon. We at MeinMMO will show you what to expect after the event.

Which event is it about? Today, January 7th, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., the first Community Day of the year with Igamaro will take place. But the little hedgehog Pokémon will not remain the only highlight of the day.

Trainers of the first time zones report a huge surprise after the event, which gives you the release of a new and, above all, long-awaited monster: Kecleon. What exactly will happen in the game, we have summarized below.

Kecleon makes its long-awaited in-game debut today

What monster is it about? Immediately after today’s Community Day, you should be able to meet the normal Pokémon Kecleon in the game for the first time. The trainers from New Zealand report on reddit that the little green monster suddenly appeared at PokéStops after the event.

What is this Pokemon? Kecleon comes from the 3rd generation of games and belongs to the Normal type. It has no advance or further development. However, it is the only monster missing from the Hoenn region in the game, which is why Trainers have not yet been able to complete their Platinum Medal.

For this reason, the community has been demanding for some time that the little chameleon should finally come into play. After the first clues to Kecleon were finally found in the game code at the end of 2022, it should finally be time for you to catch it today.

Finding and Catching Kecleon – How to do it?

How do you get Kecleon? According to reports from numerous players, Kecleon should be found on individual photo disks of PokéStops after Community Day – so it is correspondingly rare. So it’s supposed to be sitting there in its camouflaged form, trying to climb away, which is why you can’t turn the disc.

If you click it a few times, it will jump off the stop and then sit in front of it. So you have the opportunity to click on it again and finally catch it. Twitter user MasterWarlord01 shows what this looks like in his video:

How much time do you have? According to current information, you should have at least 2 hours after the event to catch Kecleon. During this time, it should be able to spawn multiple times on one and the same photo pane.

However, it is believed that the 2-hour window is not over immediately, but that the location of the little monster changes and you can then find it at a different stop. If there is any more information about this, we will add it to you here.

More notes on catching: In the social networks and on the LeekDuck website, you can also find more information about encounters with the new Pokémon. According to this, it should be able to be found for all players at the same stops and be discovered from afar at the stop.

The chameleon can also spawn at occupied Team GO Rocket PokéStops. So if you spot one at such a stop, you can secure it by simply defeating the respective bully.

How do you like the release of Kecleon? Is this how you imagined the introduction to the game? And will you even secure the little monster today? Let us know here on MeinMMO in the comments and exchange ideas with other trainers.
