You can now get Schligda in Pokémon GO. We have summarized here on MeinMMO which biome you can find it in, what further development it has and how strong it is.
What kind of Pokémon is Schligda? Schligda is a water-type Pokémon from the 9th generation of games. It is also known as the Conger Pokémon due to its appearance and can be evolved into Schligdri with the help of 50 candies.
With the big biome update, Schligda and its evolution were introduced to Pokémon GO. We’ll explain below where you should best look for the water Pokémon, what it looks like and whether it’s even worth it.
You can see an insight into the update in the video below.
Find Schligda – Everything about the biome, appearance & a location trick
In which biome can Schligda be found? Unlike the other wild Pokémon in the game, Schligda can only be found in the beach biome. However, as trainers have discovered on social networks, some banks of larger rivers and lakes are also recognized as a type of beach or natural coastline. So with a bit of luck you can meet Schligda there too.
In the game you recognize the corresponding biomes based on their background. There you should pay attention to a beach landscape or a shore with water. But trainers have found another trick to help you find out where the beach and natural shores are in your area.
Trainer shows trick to find the right biome
What kind of trick is this? The developers of Pokémon GO use OpenStreetMap data for their map. As a trainer has now found out and shared in his Reddit post, there is a trick to finding the right biome.
He explains that you can use the Overpass Turbo homepage to search for Schligda, which also uses OpenStreetMap data. On this page you have the opportunity to search the map for specific areas.
All you have to do is find your desired location and then enter the following code in the field on the left.
You can now confirm your entry by clicking on the green Execute button. Colored circles will then show you on the map where there are beaches or natural shore sections in your area. These places give you a clue as to where you should look for Schligda. You can see what this looks like using the example of Erfurt in the following image:
How can you recognize Schligda? You can recognize Schligda by its bright, worm-like body that looks out of a sand hole. The red nose is striking. Overall, the Pokémon is visually reminiscent of Digda, but is still a monster in its own right.
There is also a similarity in its further development Schligdri. This has three red, eel-like bodies that look out of a rock. Here too there are parallels to Digdri, the further development of Digda.
Is it worth catching Schligda?
Is Schligda available as Shiny? No, there is currently no shiny version of the water Pokémon in the game. If the time comes at some point, you will recognize the Shiny by its yellow body and purple nose.
How strong is Schligda? Schligda and Schligdri are both not particularly strong. Although Schligdri has a solid attack value, it doesn’t hold up well in combat and can’t convince in defense either. For raids and the GO Battle League, there are a whole range of better candidates that you should use in battle.
Who is Schligda worthwhile for? The Water Pokémon is primarily worthwhile for trainers who want to fill their PokéDex. If you’re looking for a monster for raids or the GO Battle League, you’ve come to the wrong place with Schligda and should instead rely on one of the best attackers in Pokémon GO. And shiny hunters won’t get their money’s worth with the Conger Eel Pokémon either.
