Pokémon GO: find Sankabuh – localities to get the new Pokémon

In Pokémon GO, the Sandpile Pokémon Sandygast celebrated its debut in the game at the Water Festival. We at MeinMMO will show you how you can find and develop the little monster in the coming days.

Which Pokemon is it? The Water Festival is currently running in Pokémon GO. In addition to lots of familiar faces, such as Muschas or Sterndu, you can also meet the sand pile Pokémon Sankabuh for the first time.

We have summarized below what kind of monster it is, where you can find it in the coming days and everything about its development.

How long is the event? The water festival started today, June 6th, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. local time and will run until June 12, 2023 at 8:00 p.m. local time.

What kind of Pokemon is Sankabuh?

This is Sankabuh: Sankabuh is a Ghost and Ground-type Pokémon from the 7th generation of games. Visually, it is reminiscent of a bright heap of sand with a small red shovel stuck in the tip.

It also has a small pair of eyes and a large hole reminiscent of a mouth. Because of this distinctive appearance, Sankabuh is also known as the Sandpile Pokémon.

Sankabuh and its further development Colossand

Sanakabuh can also be evolved into Colossand with the help of 50 Candies. Unlike its pre-development, this one is more reminiscent of a sandcastle. It has two small turrets that it uses as arms, its mouth now resembles a castle gate, and its eyes resemble small windows.

On the tip, Colossand is again decorated with the red shovel and is also adorned with colorful shells on the rest of the body. Overall, his body is also slightly yellower than Sankabuh’s.

Is there Shiny-Sankabuh? No! There is currently no iridescent form of Sankabuh available in-game. If the time comes, you will recognize it by a black body and a yellow shovel.

All locations from Sankabuh to the Water Festival

Unlike most other monsters, Sanakbuh cannot currently be found in the wild. During the water festival, however, you have the following options for getting hold of the new Pokémon (via leekduck.com):

Raids: Sankabuh will currently be found in the level 1 raids. There you can fight the monster and catch it after the fight. The raid is very simple and can therefore be done by a trainer alone without any problems.

Temporary research: You can also get another Sankabuh from the “Water Festival: Beach Week” limited-time research, which can be purchased during the event for 6 euros. So if you buy the research anyway, you can look forward to an additional encounter with the sand pile Pokémon.

Field research: If you want more copies and maybe don’t want to do raids, you can alternatively look out for the event field research “Water Festival: Catch 25 Water-type Pokémon”. Sankabuh is also hiding behind this one. Since water Pokémon are currently spawning at every corner, solving them shouldn’t be a problem.

To get the research, all you have to do is turn the PokéStops Photo Discs. However, which quest you get is random. You can then see them in your field view, which you can access by clicking on the binoculars.

Is Sankabuh worth it?

It is so strong: Sankabuh is one of the monsters in Pokémon GO that are not particularly strong and therefore do not play a role in the GO Battle League and in raids themselves. And its further development, Colossand, is only marginally better. Although it has a good ground move set, it is not particularly strong and quickly defeated in battle due to its poor values (via gamepress.gg).

Is it even worth it? Sankabuh is currently mainly interesting for collecting for the Pokédex. Since there is still no dazzling variant of the Ghost and Ground Pokémon, Shiny Hunters are left behind for the time being. But that will change with his debut. When that will happen, however, remains to be seen for the time being.
