Pokémon GO finally gives you a really strong stardust bonus again

The day and night event is currently running in Pokémon GO, which has been bringing you a really strong stardust bonus for a long time. We at MeinMMO will show you exactly which bonus it is and which monster you can use to get the most out of it.

Which event is it about? Yesterday, June 16, 2023, the day and night event started in Pokémon GO. This not only brings you a series of wild spawns and special research tasks, but also a really strong bonus that you can use throughout the event.

You can use this especially for you with the help of a monster. In the following, we will show you which bonus it is and which Pokémon you should look out for.

So the stardust bonus is really worth it for you

What bonus is it? During the entire day and night event, i.e. until June 25, 2023 at 20:00 local time, you can benefit from a stardust bonus when catching in Pokémon GO. Instead of the 100 Stardust that is usual with most Pokémon, you will receive double the amount for every monster you catch.

In terms of the number of days, you can already farm a lot of stardust this way, especially if you also use a star piece. This is particularly worthwhile if you have just ignited a smoke or a decoy module anyway and are catching a corresponding number of monsters.

But one of the spawns is really worth catching in the next few days, we’ll show you which one and why. We’ll also show you more tips on how to get some stardust in the coming days.

Camouflage Pignon brings you additional Stardust

Catch Tarnpignon: To get even more Stardust, keep an eye out for the Grass and Poison-type Pokémon Tarnpignon in the coming days. The monster from the 5th generation of games will be out in the wild during the event. You will find it there especially in the evening hours. So pay particular attention when the moon symbol is visible in your game.

Why is Tarngipnon worthwhile? The small mushroom Pokémon offers you a special feature, because it is one of the 22 Pokémon in the game where you get more Stardust when you catch it. So you get the following Stardust when catching Tarnpignon under optimal weather conditions and depending on the use of Star Pieces alone without the event bonus:

Catch camouflage…Stardustwithout star piece 500 with star piece 750 without star piece and weather boost 625 with star piece and weather boost 938

With the event bonus, you can even double this amount again. In the best case, there are even up to 1,876 stardust per camouflage mushroom caught.

What is a Star Piece? This purple, star-shaped item allows you to increase your Stardust in Pokémon GO, which you collect while the item is activated. After using it, you get 50% more Stardust for 30 minutes. You can find it in your item bag or alternatively you can buy it in the game’s in-game shop for 100 coins.

How to farm more Stardust?

Field Research Monsters: In addition to the wild camouflage spawns, there is currently another way in the game to get such a special monster: the field research in June. You get these by spinning your Pokéstops.

With a bit of luck, you can look forward to an encounter with the Poison Pokemon Unratütox. This hides next to other monsters, such as Scoppel or Haspiror, in the quest Hatch an Egg and, just like Tarnpignon, brings you more Stardust by default.

During the event, if you catch the monster without a Star Piece, you will receive 1,500 Stardust and even 2,250 with a Star Piece. There is usually no weather boost when redeeming research tasks. You can stack your encounters and then retrieve them later in one go. So the star piece is worth a lot more.

To do this, first redeem the quest, but do not catch the monster, but leave the catch mask via the corresponding symbol in the upper left corner. It ends up on the stack above your tasks and can be accessed at a later time. Note that you always get the oldest encounters displayed first.

So if you still have older monsters in your stack, preferably also with a special stardust bonus, then now is the perfect opportunity to redeem them.

Research Breakthrough Monsters: And two of these special specimens can also be found in the June research breakthrough: Zobiris and Ohrdoch. With a bit of luck you will catch one of them and in this way you can get up to 2250 Stardust with Star Piece (1500 without Star Piece) from Zobirs in the coming days. At Ohrdoch there are even up to 6,300 stardust or 4,100 stardust without a star piece during the event.

It is best to combine redeeming the Star Piece breakthrough with redeeming Pokémon on your quest stack – or alternatively with appropriate smoke and lure modules.

However, one disadvantage is that you will only have a maximum of two chances to do so during the event, as you can only unlock the research breakthrough after redeeming 7 field researches.

What do you need the stardust for anyway? Stardust is one of the most important resources in Pokémon GO. You need this to level up your Pokémon. This is important to get the most out of them in battle. That’s why you should bring the best attackers in Pokémon GO to level 50 in particular.

But a lot of stardust is also needed for swapping your monsters or changing their form. That’s why you should take the chance and build up a good supply in the coming days.

How do you like the stardust bonus that is currently available in the event? Will you take the opportunity and actively farm what? Or do you have enough stardust anyway? Let us know here on MeinMMO in the comments and exchange ideas with other trainers.

During the event you can also skim stardust in other places and even encounter a cosmog. We show you all the tasks and rewards of the special research starry sky.
