There’s finally new information on the cost and Shiny Rate of the Worldwide Hoenn Tour in Pokémon GO.
On February 25th and 26th, 2023, the worldwide Hoenn Tour will take place in Pokémon GO. So far, however, it has been unclear what the event would cost and what the shiny rate for the event would look like.
Developer Niantic has now spoken to the Eurogamer portal.
This is known about the costs: Niantic told Eurogamer that there will be no “big” event ticket to the global Hoenn tour. Most of the event will be free to play.
As of now, the only exception is Masterwork research with Shiny Jirachi. There’s a ticket for that, which is on sale between February 20 and March 20 for $4.99 (or equivalent in local currency).
This is known about the Shinys: Regardless of research ticket purchase, selected Pokémon species will receive a Shiny Boost during the event, Niantic told Eurogamer. It is still unclear what these are.
So there isn’t a fundamentally increased shiny chance, but there will be an increased shiny rate for at least some monsters.
