Pokémon GO: Exclusive Pokémon only for real money

In Pokémon GO there was recently an exclusive Pokémon only available for real money. We asked you for your opinion – here is the result.

The Blooming Wonder event recently took place in Pokémon GO. Part of the event was a ticket that you could only purchase for real money. The most interesting part of the ticket was the encounter with Zarude, a Pokémon that hasn’t been seen in Pokémon GO for several years.

If you didn’t purchase the ticket, you had no chance to meet Zarude. This was an exclusive Pokémon that could only be found for real money.

We asked you for your opinion on this. After you have voted diligently, we will now present you the results.

Almost a third of you are willing to spend real money on certain Pokémon

What kind of survey was that? In the survey we wanted to know from you whether you were willing to invest money in Pokémon GO for exclusive Pokémon or not. As of April 8, 2024 at 12:44 p.m., 1018 people have voted. The result looks like this:

  • No, I generally don’t use real money in Pokémon GO with 421 votes, equivalent to about 41%
  • No, I only spend real money on items and other things with 292 votes, which is about 29%
  • Yes, if they are rare or strong Pokémon with 199 votes, about 20%
  • Yes, but only if I like the Pokémon a lot with 106 votes, which is about 10%
  • While the majority of you, 70%, are not prepared to spend money on exclusive Pokémon and a full 41% say they are not prepared to spend any real money on Pokémon GO, at 30% almost a third are prepared to spend money on the right exclusive Pokémon to take your hand. Assuming the Pokémon are rare, strong, or of personal interest.

It remains to be seen whether Niantic will make more exclusive Pokémon available only for real money in the future. In the past there have been encounters with shiny Pokémon for real money.
