Pokémon GO: Community Day in August with Galar Zigzachs

On Saturday, August 13, 2022, Pokémon GO will be celebrating Galarian Zigzachs Community Day. Numerous bonuses await you on this occasion. We at MeinMMO have looked at how you can best use the event.

What is this event? Every month, a so-called Community Day takes place in Pokémon GO. It focuses on a specific Pokémon and spawns at almost every corner during the event. An increased shiny rate should also improve the chances of a dazzling specimen.

On Saturday it’s that time again and the Community Day with Galar Zigzachs begins. By earning the hyper bonus, you were also able to improve the content again and in some cases even benefit from it beyond the event.

Community Day in August 2022 – start and bonuses

The Community Day therefore extends over 3 full event hours again. As you already know from previous C-Days, there will be bonuses again this time, which will also be valid after the end of the actual event and will therefore be available to you until 7:00 p.m. local time.

In addition to the double send candies and catch XP, this also includes bonuses for trading and learning the event attack blocker. A special limited-time research is also available to you on this day. To solve these, you have to catch 100 Galar Zigzachs and you can finally look forward to various avatar items.

Live event: As in the past few months, there will again be live events in various locations as part of the Community Day with Galar Zigzachs. 9 German cities are also there again, where you can meet up with like-minded people between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. local time:

In addition to the live events mentioned, there will also be a number of PokéStops where special bonuses await you. You can see exactly where they are on the map on the Pokémon GO website.

Bonus Raid Battles: And of course, the special level 4 raids following the Community Day with Galar Zigzachs should not be missing either. As you know it from the previous two C-Days, you can secure further spawns of Galar Zigzachs between 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. local time. In addition, you can fight against Galarian Geradaks in this context.

Note, however, that the raids can only be played locally again and you cannot use long-distance raid passes. If you have won the raid, you secure the additional spawns for 30 minutes in a radius of 300 meters around the arena. The Galar Zigzachs that appear in this context have the same chance of shining as in actual C-Day.

How to prepare So that you can make the best possible use of the Community Day, you should already make one or the other preparation. First and foremost, of course, you need one thing: space. In order to be able to catch diligently and not have to constantly sort the Pokémon, you should already sort out your Pokémon bag vigorously.

However, you should wait until the start of the event before sending it. After all, you’ll get double the candy for C-Day. For this reason, it makes sense to pre-sort your monsters using the tag function and the search filters.

You can easily do this by clicking on the “Tags” category in the top left corner of your Pokémon Bag. You can now add a new one via the “+”. Then you sort your monsters as usual, but instead of sending them, you select the “Tag” item and can now assign it. For the C-Day you only have to open the corresponding day, mark all monsters and send them off.

In addition to space for Pokémon, you should also sort your item bag and make room for important items on the day.

You should use these items for the Community Day with Galar Zigzachs

Balls: So that you don’t run out of balls during the event, you should create an appropriate supply. If you want to play the full 3 hours, you should have at least 200 balls ready. So keep busy at PokéStops and Arenas or open gifts from friends.

Smoke and Lure Modules: As with every Community Day, you will of course need smoke and Lure Modules for Galar Zigzachs to attract even more specimens. Both last 3 hours, so you only need one for the event.

pineapple berries: The best way to evolve and level up Galarian Zigzags is to collect lots of Candy. It is worthwhile to set a pineapple berry when catching it, because it doubles the candy each time you catch it.

Star Pieces: You can collect a lot of stardust during the Community Day, because the event gives you a 3-fold stardust bonus. Additionally, during C-Day, if you play near PokéStops that have unlocked a party bonus, you’ll even get 4x Stardust for catching them.

If you want to get even more out of this, you should set yourself a piece of a star. This brings you another 50% more Stardust for 30 minutes.

Lucky Eggs: And lucky eggs should not be missing in your item bag on this day. If you catch it, you get double the XP. In combination with the Beetle Crawling event, which is currently running parallel to Community Day, you will also be rewarded for your particularly good throwing talent and double the XP for good, great and fabulous throws again.

If you now use a lucky egg, you can double your experience points for another 30 minutes. So you can get x8 XP for every Galarian Zigzag caught.

Tip: It is also suitable here if you combine setting a lucky egg with the rise of your friend level.

Other Items: If you still want to take part in the level 4 raids after the Community Day, you also need sufficient (premium) raid passes as well as revitalizers and potions.

Use this Mega Evolution during C-Day with Galarian Zigzags

Why is it worth it? If you want to collect even more candies from Galarian Zigzachs during Community Day, then you should activate the correct Mega Evolution. This gives you an additional candy when you catch it if the monster you catch corresponds to the type of Mega Pokémon.

Which Mega Evolution should you use? Galarian Zigzags belong to the Dark and Normal types. This makes the following Mega Pokémon available:

Who is Mega-Schlapor worthwhile for? If you still want to play the level 4 raids against Galar-Geradaks after the Community Day, you should develop a mega-lollipop. The advancement of Galar Zigzachs is particularly weak against combat attacks.

Since Mega Sloppy is both Normal and Fighting type, it’s great to use in battle to boost other attackers’ Fighting Attacks, and you’ll also get another candy since it’s the same type as Galarian Zigzags and Galar-Geradaks corresponds.

Is Community Day worth it with Galarian Zigzachs?

Are there Galar Zigzachs as Shiny? Yes, Galar Zigzachs has been available in game in its dazzling form for a while now. For Community Day, however, the shiny rates are slightly higher, so your chances of encountering a dazzling specimen are good. You can recognize it by its wine-red body.

How strong is Galar Zigzachs? Galar Zigzachs and its evolution Galar Geradak are both not particularly strong and do not play a significant role in raids or in the GO Battle League. Barrikadax, on the other hand, can really score in the Hyperliga.

With a move set of counter, night slash and cross slash, it secures 24th place in the ranking according to PvPoke. For use in raids, however, you should rather use the best attackers in Pokémon GO.

Who should use Community Day? The Community Day is worthwhile above all because of the numerous bonuses, with the help of which you can improve your stardust supply and progress a bit on the way to level 50.

Trainers who are also speculating on one or the other lucky Pokémon should not ignore the exchange bonus either. You can even trade Pokémon at a reduced Stardust price for up to 5 hours after the event, and you’ll also get 2 more special trades.

But even shiny hunters get their money’s worth with Galar Zigzachs. In the past, the monster could only be obtained in raids or from eggs with a few exceptions, which is why the event is a good opportunity to encounter a dazzling specimen.
