In Pokémon GO, the color festival is on the program from March 8th. We show you what happens in the event.

When is the “color festival”? The Color Festival starts on Wednesday, March 8th at 10:00 local time. It will then run until Tuesday, March 14 at 8:00 p.m.

So you don’t have quite a week to take advantage of the event’s bonuses and collect the event spawns.

The Festival of Colors is the first long-term event of the recently launched “Rising Heroes” season in Pokémon GO.

New Pokémon in Color Festival: During the Color Festival you can encounter “Knirfish”. The colorful fish monster has the types water / psycho and comes from the seventh generation. It cannot evolve and the Shiny version is not available in Pokémon GO for the time being either.

New Mega Pokémon: Also new is the mega development of Meditalis. You can challenge Mega Meditalis in Mega Raids during the Color Festival and thus secure energy for Mega Evolution. There you also have the chance to meet the Shiny variant.

Shiny color eagle active: To meet Farbeagle, you need to take snapshots. Farbeagle then appears first in the photo and then in the wild. The Shiny variant of Coloreagle will be re-enabled for the Color Festival, so you have a chance of encountering the shiny version if you’re lucky. Important: After the event, the shiny version will be deactivated again. So you can only get them for a short time.

Other bonuses for the event: There are a few additional bonuses in the event:

  • PokéStops bring a “Colorful Surprise”
  • Lure Modules last for 3 hours if you activate them in the event
  • Collector’s Challenge rewards 20,000 XP and a Lure Module
  • Friendship levels increase twice as fast.
