Pokémon GO changes hyper bonuses for GO Fest 2022

Pokémon GO is celebrating GO Fest 2022 this coming weekend. Now there is a new announcement on how you can unlock the hyper bonuses this year.

What is a hyper bonus? The Hyper Bonuses have established themselves as an integral part of the Pokémon GO Fest in recent years.

Most recently, all trainers around the world had to complete several in-game challenges together over the course of GO Fest. This happened in three stages. There was a “hyper bonus” for each level.

The bonuses were separate events that were unlocked and then took place after the respective GO Fest. The third bonus from last year’s GO Fest, for example, saw the debut of the legendary Pokémon Zacian and Zamazenta.

This time, however, things are a little different.

You cannot unlock all hyper bonuses at once

How do you unlock the hyper bonuses? As the Pokémon GO team has officially announced, there will also be Hyper Bonuses at the upcoming GO Fest events. However, this requires you to have several dates in view – and not just the global GO Fest 2022, which takes place this weekend.

Because there are several GO Fest events this year, the game also uses several opportunities to present you with challenges.

What else is changing? This time, the hyper bonuses will apparently not be “own” events like in the past, but will improve events of the upcoming Season of GO.

  • You can unlock the first Hyper Bonus at the global GO Fest on June 4th and 5th, 2022. Trainers must complete at least 20 global challenges in total. The bonus should then improve the adventure week from June 7th to June 12th.
  • The second hyper bonus can be unlocked at the GO Fest Berlin, i.e. between July 1st and July 3rd. He should then improve the Pokémon GO birthday event.
  • Hyperbonus 3 can be unlocked at GO Fest Seattle. This runs from July 22nd to July 24th. The event that the bonus then boosts is still unknown.
  • There is also a fourth Hyper Bonus that can be unlocked at GO Fest Sapporo. This runs between August 5th and 7th, 2022. Here too, it is not yet known which event will then improve the bonus.

    • Important: While the three events in Berlin, Seattle, and Sapporo are “on-site GO Fests,” you can still help unlock the Hyper Bonus – even if you’re not there. The hyper bonuses should all be unlocked through global challenges.
