Pokémon GO brings you new adventure effects

There are now two new adventure effects available in Pokémon GO: Steelstar and Shadow Beam. We have summarized what they offer you and how you can use them here on MeinMMO.

What features are involved? With the release of the original forms of Dialga and Palkia, so-called adventure effects were also introduced into Pokémon GO. These are special temporary bonuses that you can get from selected Pokémon by activating the corresponding charge attack outside of battles.

For example, you can activate an extended timer with the Attache Time Noise on Primal Dialga and thus benefit from longer smoke, stardust and lucky egg runtimes. Primal Palkia lets you expand the radius for spawns with Space Strike.

Now, according to the Pokémon GO blog, two new adventure effects of this type are being added: Necrozma (Dusk Mane) and Necrozma (Morning Wings). We have summarized below how you can activate them and what you get in return.

Get new attacks & adventure effects through Necrozma

What kind of Pokémon is Necrozma? The legendary psychic Pokémon Necrozma is making its global debut at the global GO Fest. Previously, it was only available at the live events in Sendai, Madrid and New York. It comes from the 7th generation of games and, according to legend, feeds on light, which is why it uses the powers of the two legendary Pokémon Solgaleo and Lunala for itself.

For this reason, not only can you catch it in level 5 raids during GO Fest in Pokémon GO, but it can also change its form afterwards by fusing with Solgaleo or Lunala. This not only allows you to benefit from a strong attacker, but also gives you the opportunity to activate two new adventure effects: Steel Star and Shadow Beam.

How can you get Steel Orb and Shadow Beam?

Here’s how to get Steel Orb and Shadow Beam: If you want to get the two new adventure effects, you first have to catch a Necrozma and fuse it with Solagleo for its Dusk Mane form or with Lunala for its Dawn Wings form. In addition to the respective Pokémon, you will also need the following items:

  • Solgaleo: 1,000 Solar Fusion Energy, 30 Necrozma Candy and 30 Cosmog Candy
  • Lunala: 1,000 Lunar Fusion Energy, 30 Necrozma Candy and 30 Cosmog Candy
  • As a ticket holder, you will receive the respective fusion energy as part of the special research for GO Fest. In addition, you will receive your first fusion energy in advance using the corresponding promo codes.

Once you have performed the fusion, Necrozma will now learn the following charged attacks:

  • Necrozma (Evening Mane): Steel Orb
  • Necrozma (Morning Wings): Shadow Beam
  • You can also activate these attacks outside of a fight to benefit from additional bonuses. To do this, you have to scroll down to the bottom of the overview of your respective monster. There you will find the option to use the attack as an adventure effect.

Activating the attacks costs you 3,000 stardust and 3 Necrozma candies. The bonuses are then active for 10 minutes. By using the items again, you can stack this effect and extend the respective bonus for up to 24 hours.

Can the effects be combined with others? No, you can only use one adventure effect at a time. You can only activate a new one when it ends. In addition, with the two adventure effects Steel Star and Shadow Beam, it is not possible to use Smoke, Adventure Smoke, the Wonder Box and the Coin Bag at the same time.

Can you learn Necrozma’s attacks via TM? No, learning the two attacks via Charged TM or Top Charged TM is currently not possible.

All bonuses from Steelstar and Shadowray

What bonuses do Steelstar and Shadowray provide? With Steel Orb and Shadow Beam you can first secure a powerful charge attack that causes a lot of damage in battles. You can benefit from the following values with both attacks:

  • 135 damage in trainer battles
  • 230 damage in raids and arena battles
  • If you activate the adventure effect outside of battles, you will receive special spawns for that time. These are marked on the map with a special colored circle and contain a corresponding symbol in the capture mask.

All spawns at Steelstar (Necrozma Duskmane): If you have activated the Steelstar adventure effect, you use the light of the sun and receive the following wild Pokémon, which normally only spawn during the day:

  • Taubsi
  • Alolan Exeggutor
  • Sonnfel
  • Waumboll
  • Eguana
  • Balgoras
  • Mangunior
  • Wuffels
  • Imantis
  • During this time, you can also develop monsters that can only be developed during the day and, with a bit of luck, you might even come across Woofles that you can develop into Lycanroc (twilight form).

All spawns at Shadow Beam (Necrozma Morningwing): With the Shadow Beam adventure effect, however, you use the power of the moon. This way, you attract wild Pokémon that are usually active at night:

  • Alolan Rattata
  • Peepee
  • Alolan Marowak
  • Hoothoot
  • Galarian Zigzagoon
  • Lunastone
  • Somniam
  • Amarino
  • Wuffels
  • Here, too, with a bit of luck, you can come across Wuffels that can evolve into Lycanroc (twilight form), as well as evolve your monsters, which can only do this at night.
