In Pokémon GO, Mega Evolutions can not only do a lot of damage, but also bring candy and attack bonuses. Here you can find all mega developments at a glance.
This is what makes mega developments: Various Pokémon can Mega Evolve. In order to do that, they need “Mega-Energy”.
You get this mega energy by defeating the monster in corresponding mega raids. The faster and more effectively you complete the raid, the more energy you get.
Accordingly, you should attack them with many trainers if you want to face a Mega Pokémon – because they can withstand a lot. The Mega Pokémon rotate in the Mega Raids, similar to the Legendary Tier 5 bosses.
The mega evolution only lasts temporarily for 8 hours before the monster transforms back. However, since the Spring 2022 Mega Evolutions update, the monsters have become a bit more accessible.
Because with each mega development, its “mega level” increases and the possibility was introduced to unlock already developed mega developments after a cooldown phase for reduced energy costs or, after a few days, no energy costs at all.
You can also generate new Energy if you walk with a Mega Pokémon as your buddy that has already Mega Evolved once.
These are the bonuses: Basically, most Mega Evolutions are good attackers in their own right, and some of them are some of the best attackers in Pokémon GO overall.
However, they have another peculiarity: they increase the attacks of all active monsters of the same type in raids. As a result, a cleverly used Mega Pokémon can make a big difference in the raid.
They also yield extra candies for each catch of the same type while active.
However, you should note that some mega developments change their type compared to the “normal” monster, or get more.
