Xavier Yvon: As you know, La Loupe releases an episode from Monday to Friday. But I suggest you start this episode on a Saturday morning, a weekend day, all that is most ordinary, but be careful all the same…

I finish my morning jog, and on the way back, I think about my breakfast. I’m going to need something to last until noon, so I stop at the primeur. Nothing better than the sporty fruit, full of energy, with its beautiful yellow skin: a lemon.

On my way home, I meet a neighbor in the lobby of my building: “Oh hello, so the cherry today?” I’ll take you straight to the kitchen. The risotto is simmering but I want a little dessert. Come on, I’m motivating myself to make my famous recipe: tomato bread.

I hope you managed to find out what was wrong… I deliberately removed from my story the name of a food, perhaps your favorite fruit: the banana. We cannot imagine our daily life completely without it, and yet, for decades, it has been at the heart of a commercial and political war. A battle accentuated by the current crises: energy, purchasing power, ecology. But is it to the point of seeing the French banana disappear from our daily lives? To answer, we decided to devote two podcasts to this fruit symbol of unbridled globalization.
