Xavier Yvon: To start this podcast, I picked up an excerpt from an episode that I think about regularly. Four months after the Russian invasion, with the specialist in military matters Yohann Michel, we wondered if Ukraine could win the war:
Yohann Michel “What does it mean to win the war in this specific case? Is it to take back the whole of Donbass, then Crimea, to return to Moscow or does winning the war mean making it stop now? »

Xavier Yvon : “We analyze a victory not with grapples but with the aims of war”… I know that the conflict is not over, rest assured I am not digressing. But there is already a big winner of the war in Ukraine, which has achieved all of its objectives, without needing to send a single soldier to the front, so it is neither Ukraine nor Russia.
The name of this winner is the United States. Since the beginning of the invasion of Ukraine, they have obtained many victories, economic as well as diplomatic, directly thanks to the conflict or in more indirect ways. In this episode, we therefore examine the American spoils of war.
