The current problems in the park near the Stadsschouwburg could have been prevented if Mayor Sharon Dijksma had acted more decisively. That is the opinion of the participants in the Podcast Stadhuisplein Utrecht. More than 120 seriously addicted and homeless people come together every day at the Lucasbolwerk. They cause serious nuisance, fights and crime. According to Dimitri Gilissen, former party chairman for the VVD in Utrecht, there were already signs two years ago that things were going wrong in the park.
