(Finance) – The Special Committee of the Higher Council of Public Works of the Ministry of Sustainable Infrastructures and Mobility (Mims) today approved the project of breakwater of Genoa and this will allow the Port System Authority to start the tender procedures for the award of the work.
This was communicated by the Ministry itself, specifying that the new breakwater of Genoa is one of the ten priority works of the Government for whose project there is an accelerated approval procedure provided for by the new simplification legislation (Legislative Decree 77/21). The deadlines were fully respected and in nine months all the opinions were acquired, including the EIA and the opinion of the Superior Council of Public Works, and the Services Conference was concluded. In the past, these stages took up to four years on average.
“This is the clear demonstration that the efforts made in recent months to launch the National Recovery and Resilience Plan are bearing the hoped-for results – comments the Minister Enrico Giovannini – and that the approval and award phases of the works are following the assignment of huge financial resources to projects capable of making our country more competitive and sustainable ”.
The letters of invitation for the award of the remaining phases of design and construction of the work will be sent by 1 June for an amount of 950 million euros.
