(Finance) – The financial coverage of all the interventions envisaged within the Integrated Urban Plans (PUI), the technical revision of the PNRR recently approved by the European Commission and the verification of the 37 objectives included in the sixth installment of the new Italian Plan, equal to 8.5 billion euros. These are the points on the agenda of the PNRR control room, held today at Palazzo Chigi, convened and chaired by the Minister for European Affairs, the South, cohesion policies and the PNRR, Raffaele Fittoin the presence of the competent Ministers and Undersecretaries, of the ANCI, of the UPI and of the Conference of Regions and Autonomous Provinces.
During the meeting Fitto illustrated the results of the investigation conducted in light of the provisions contained in the decree-law n. 19/2024 and relating to Integrated Urban Plans. The rule ensured total financial coverage of all interventions, he distinguishesnd among those covered with PNRR funds, to be allocated to projects in line with the conditionalities of the Plan as communicated by the metropolitan cities and those covered through the use of national funds for the other works planned under the measure.
“The commitment of the Meloni Government – says Palazzo Chigi in a note – remains focused on the implementation of interventions, aimed at returning urban spaces redeveloped for social, cultural and economic activities to the community, always maintaining high attention on the protection of environment and people’s quality of life”.
Regarding the technical review of the new Italian PNRR, presented last March 4th and relating to formal changes aimed at simplifying and facilitating the process for reporting objectives Fitto shared the definitive adoption of the revision by the Council of the European Union, which took place last May 14th.
The last item on the agenda is the discussion regarding the state of implementation of the measures aimed at achieving the 37 objectives and goals related to the sixth instalmentwhich include important investments linked to the creation of infrastructures and services for citizens and numerous reforms, including the measure aimed at reducing payment delays by public administrations and health authorities, interventions in the field of public procurement, the framework law dedicated to people with disabilities and, finally, measures in favor of non-self-sufficient elderly people.

With the start of reporting on the objectives of the sixth instalment, the Government continues to relentlessly implement the National Recovery and Resilience Plan. Facts confirmed, among other things, by the positive report of the last few days by the Court of Auditors on the implementation of the new Plan and by the medium-term evaluation of the European Commission, which sees Italy in first place for objectives achieved and financial progress”.
