Plympton Wyoming parts ways with two senior administrators

The Town of Plympton-Wyoming has shared ways with its chief administrator and its director of fire and emergency services.

“Carolyn Tripp and Darryl Thompson are no longer employed by the town,” said Mayor Gary Atkinson.

“We want to thank them for their contributions and wish them the best in their future endeavors,” he said.

“As these are confidential personnel matters, the town will not be making any further comment.”

Tripp had been the town’s chief administrator since 2016 and Thompson was hired in 2021 to head its fire and emergency services department.

Atkinson said Tripp had been on sick leave and Thompson on administrative leave since February.

The mayor said he wasn’t able to say Friday how the vacancies will be filled.

Tripp had worked previously as chief administrator for the Town of Midland and Thompson had spent more than 15 years in senior leadership roles with the Town of Caledon Fire and Emergency Services.

Thompson was hired several months after Steve Clemens, who had been Plympton-Wyoming’s fire chief and director since 2017, stepped down “to focus his efforts on other personal and professional opportunities,” the municipality said at the time.

The Town of Plympton-Wyoming, located next to Sarnia, has about 8,000 residents.
