Eight seasons of Game of Thrones made Daenerys actress Emilia Clarke one of the most famous actresses ever. And for many fans the definition of a proud ruler. Her first day on set, however, started with one Slip that made her so embarrassed she cried.

In a video posted by the official Game of Thrones channel on YouTube, Clarke describes filming her first real scene after the series got the green light. In the sequence from the third episode of the first season, she should riding alongside Sir Mormont (Iain Glen) through a grove of bamboo. She remembers:

I fell off a damn horse! And that was my first job! I clutched me desperately and yelled, “Please stop filming!” [Danach] I thought everything was fine and I turned around and the whole crew was standing in front of me. Then I just started crying.

Clarke’s riding skills will have improved over the course of the series. Maybe she just felt the weight of the leading role on her shoulders. Thankfully, more than a decade later, her despair is now just an anecdote.
