Be careful with the devices and accessories you buy, because not all of them are of good quality! You might think that choosing a well-known brand is a guarantee of reliability, but even large companies are not immune to problems! Anker, a brand known for its external batteries and portable Bluetooth speakers, has had this bitter experience. In a press release on its website, the company is recalling the Anker 321 Power Bank PowerCore 5K Black portable batteries (model A1112), Soundcore A3102 speakers and AnkerWork A3302 speakers due to a manufacturing defect in the lithium-ion batteries, which could cause overheating and therefore, in the worst case, a fire. Also, if you have one, stop using it immediately!

Anker returns: what to do with affected devices?

Anker is launching a voluntary recall, as a safety precaution, of all Anker 321 Power Bank (PowerCore 5K, Black) produced after March 2023, namely model A1112, although only a limited number of units would be affected. To find out if your device is affected, check its reference, which is listed below the battery, as you can see in the photo below. On the manufacturer’s website, a tool at this address allows you to check the serial number to confirm if it is affected by the recall. Obviously, this is valid for the Soundcore A3102 speakers and the AnkerWork A3302 speakers.

If this is the case, Anker recommends turning off the affected units immediately and contacting customer service for instructions. Above all, do not throw the devices into household waste or traditional recycling, but take them to a facility specializing in the processing of lithium-ion batteries. More information on this is available at ecologie.gouv.fr.

The manufacturer offers to replace defective devices free of charge. Fill the form so that he can, if necessary, contact you. For any questions or additional assistance, the company has established email customer support. Please note, it is essential to include “Anker 321 Portable Battery Recall” in the subject of the message for quick support.
