When we look at the design of the Playstation VR2 headset, we encounter a slightly oval, spherical design. It has been stated that the reason why it is circular is that it represents the 360-degree view that players feel when they enter the virtual reality world, so this shape captures it beautifully.

In addition, the design of the Playstation VR2 headset was inspired by the look of the PS5 product family. In the statement, it was stated that when the design team designed the PS5 console, they also had the design of the next generation virtual reality glasses in mind. While the PS5 console has a flat surface and straight edges, the design of the PS VR2 headset has a similar design with rounded edges as in DualSense and Pulse 3D.

Sony, which is assertive about headphone ergonomics, has done a lot of testing while signing the design on this subject. Stating that they have already received a lot of positive feedback about the ergonomics of the first PS VR headset, which carefully balances the head weight and has a simple adjustable headband, Sony stated that they have kept the same concept for the PS VR2 headset.

For the PS VR2 headset, users also have an additional option to optimize their vision and match the lens distance between their eyes, while taking convenience a few steps further by adding new features such as a lens adjustment dial. It was also noted that Sense technology was used for the new head part, which integrated a new ventilation design.

Yujin Morisawa, SIE Senior Artistic Director; “When I started working on the design of the PlayStation VR2 headset, one of the areas I first wanted to focus on was the idea of creating a vent inside the headset, similar to the air vent on the PS5 console. Our engineers found this idea as a good way to allow for ventilation and prevent the lens from fogging up while gamers are immersed in VR games. I worked on many design concepts to achieve this and you can see in the final design there is a small gap between the top and front surface of the binocular which includes the integrated vent. I am really proud of the positive feedback I have received so far. I hope our PlayStation fans agree with me and I can’t wait for them to try it out. ” made statements.
