PlayStation Plus subscriber count is higher than expected

Sony made statements for the number of PlayStation Plus subscribers. At the end of the first year, they had more subscribers than expected.

Sony in a new report Number of PlayStation Plus subscribers made a statement about it. PlayStation Plus added the Essential category alongside its Plus Extra and Premium subscriptions in June 2022. However, it seems that the sale of these subscriptions has brought a lot of membership to Sony.

PlayStation Plus subscriber numbers above estimates

PlayStation Plus Extra tier users have access to a massive catalog of PS5 and PS4 titles, while Premium members can play select PS1, PS2 and PSP titles. PS Plus Premium subscribers can also download limited-time trials for certain games, allowing them to try those games for a few hours.

In a recent report, Sony announced that as of March 2023, PlayStation Plus Premium had 8 million subscribers and PS Plus Extra had 6.1 million subscribers. Higher PS Plus tiers now accounted for 30% of total users. The firm recently confirmed that PlayStation Plus has 47.4 million subscribers across all three tiers.

There is also other data in the report. Accordingly, since the release of PS VR2, 600,000 units have been sold, The Last of Us Part 1’s PC version has sold 368,000 copies, and Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered has sold more than 1.5 million copies.
