Sony aims to release PlayStation 5 updates more frequently in 2025. New features and performance improvements await players.
PlayStation 5 Users were excited with the news that Sony will follow a more frequent update policy in 2025. While the company released two major updates per year (in March and September) in previous years, it plans to accelerate this process in 2025. Now with more frequent updates, not only patches that improve system performance and stability, but also new features will be offered. Innovations such as the “Welcome Hub” introduced last year are expected to become more diverse this year.
Changes in PlayStation 5 Updates
Sony announced that it has completed the infrastructure work that will accelerate PlayStation 5 updates. Thanks to the new system, updates can be applied faster and in some cases will not require downloading. An example of these changes was the introduction of themes published on the 30th anniversary of PlayStation to users.
It is stated that Sony’s frequent update strategy is a step towards meeting the demands from players more quickly. There is a high demand for the return of customization options such as themes and folders, which were especially popular during the PlayStation 4 era. However, Sony has not made a statement as to whether it will meet these demands by 2025.
It is stated that the increased update frequency for PlayStation 5 will not be limited to performance improvements only. Sony is working on new features to further enrich the players’ experience.
