Sony announced that it has reached the milestone by selling more than 40 million PlayStation 5s worldwide since its release in 2020.
Sony sold its 25 millionth PS5 unit in the fiscal quarter ending September 30, 2022. That means it took a little over nine months for the Japanese company to sell another 15 million PS5 consoles.
Sony CEO said that more than 2,500 games are currently available for PS5, including partners Final Fantasy XVI, Diablo IV and Street Fighter 6 released in the last two months.
With the increase in technology, the number of users in the game world is also increasing rapidly. By 2024, Sony is expected to sell approximately 5 million more units.
