Players would like to get fancy new armor for “The Witcher”, but have 3 problems

In Destiny 2, a collaboration with “The Witcher” will begin in a few days, bringing new equipment to the game’s cash shop. Players discuss the 3 issues that are preventing them from making a purchase.

This was the message: A few days ago we reported on MeinMMO that Destiny 2 will also get new ornaments with the “Season of Wish” on November 28th:

  • All three classes get access to “The Witcher” ornaments
  • Although there is no exact price information yet, it is assumed that the armor will sell for the same price as the Assassin’s Creed ornaments in Season 18
  • 2,000 silver (around 20 euros) would be due per armor. So if you want the 3 armor sets for Hunter, Warlock and Titan, you pay €60. That would be significantly more expensive than getting the 3 Witcher games on Steam

    In Call of Duty you get an 8-piece set for €20

    This is the discussion: There is a large thread on reddit discussing the set. One player says: He’s not averse to buying a set, but he has a few problems:

    He says the set is just too expensive compared to what you get in other service titles for €20.

    With the “Ash vs. Evil Dead” set, Call of Duty offers a whole cosmetic pack with a total of 8 items, including a fully voiced Ash skin and 2 weapons – a boomstick and an AK, which become bloodier the more kills you get with it.

    Destiny 2’s offering simply doesn’t meet today’s standards.

    Although the player says he likes Destiny 2 better than Call of Duty because of the gunplay, he still can’t justify spending so much money on Destiny 2 when other service games offer so much more content for the same money.

    In Destiny, the Guardians are annoyed that you have to buy 3 sets to get the complete collection. They don’t appreciate this division of content, especially since many regular players apparently play all 3 classes. If they sold the skins individually, then not for $20, but for a maximum of $10. This criticism also came up in the reddit thread:

    “Anything they split into 3 different buyers is an automatic ‘no’ to me.” If you can unlock an ornament/armor set for all 3 classes with one purchase then I’ll consider it, but I won’t touch anything that’s as split as this. Especially because things used to be different.”

    The third problem that gets a lot of approval, another player explains, is that you can’t “transmog” exotic items, so you can’t even show the full set. So what’s the point of getting the set if you can’t even wear it fully?

    Transmogging allows players in Destiny 2 to wear the items they want in terms of stats, but look the way they prefer.

  • The reader Mizzbizz thinks there should be no purchase items at all. You should be able to earn everything cool in the game.
  • The user WooDaHoo particularly criticizes the poor timing of the campaign. Especially after layoffs, it is remarkable that the PR strategists were apparently allowed to keep their jobs and continue with their numbers.
  • Regular user Millerntorian also thinks it is a wrong signal at this point in time.
  • FrauHolle2 says Bungie could have appeased the players here and given away the Witcher armor for free as a “sweet treat”. Instead, they are now being sold for 20 euros each. Bungie understood “nothing”.
