The release of Dragon Age: The Veilguard is imminent. Players who haven’t played the series yet or want to do it again are currently playing through the old parts in speedrun.
When will Dragon Age: The Veilguard be released? The time has come on October 31, 2024 and the fourth part of Bioware’s role-playing game series will appear. Initial test reports were enthusiastic. Fans have been waiting for a successor for 10 years; the last spin-off, Inquisition, was released in 2014.
But not everyone who is currently curious about The Veilguard is familiar with the previous parts. That’s why Origins, Part 2 and Inquisition are now being caught up by some players. Others refresh their memories. And at a rapid pace.

Little time and many hours of fun
Why is time short? Playing through all three predecessors takes some time. Some players have made this their mission to better understand the world of Dragon Age when The Veilguard is released.
Since there are only 9 days left until then, this is causing stress:
But the stress is worth it: it can’t hurt to familiarize yourself with the world and the characters again before The Veilguard. After all, Dragon Age is a series that lives from a lively story with many decisions. The so-called world situation or the world state plays an important role.
This means that the score from the previous parts, including all decisions made, can be imported into the next game. The story is then presented in the tapestry and can be viewed or changed there. Maybe that’s why some of the community are playing the old offshoots again – to create the perfect world state. On this point, The Veilguard could disappoint fans.
Why might players be disappointed? Unlike its predecessors, it will no longer be possible to import an old save file in The Veilguard. The decisions made are not adopted one-to-one.
Instead, there will be a number of options for players to choose from at the start of the game. This determines various aspects of the world and the characters – regardless of previous decisions.
This could particularly disappoint those players who are currently making a lot of effort to experience the games again in quick succession. The general question is whether you need to have played the previous parts to enjoy The Veilguard: How much Dragon Age do I need to know to understand The Veilguard?
