With the new runes, Season 6 also brought the practical function of being able to replace gemstones. You simply pull the desired stone out of your inventory onto the item, and the old man automatically ends up in the inventory. This has become even more important with the new occult gemstones in Season 7, which can properly strengthen your builds.
This saves time and makes the change between your endgame builds in Diablo 4 much more pleasant. In particular, you can save yourself the way and the loading screens to the city.
