Players master Kingdom Come Deliverance as a pacifist maiden in hardcore mode

In preparation for the release of Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, numerous RPG fans are currently playing the first part. In his run, a player masters the hardest combination of 4 Steam achievements.

What are these successes? Player NeedleworkerDense736 has mastered Kingdom Come Deliverance on Steam with the following four achievements (via Reddit):

  • Merciful: Don’t kill anyone (except an imp) in the main quest line – has been completed by 0.7 percent of all Kingdom Come Deliverance Steam owners so far.
  • Just a scratch: Complete the game on Hardcore mode with all negative specializations – 0.9 percent.
  • Virgo: Be celibate and complete the game as a virgin – 1.0 percent.
  • Hardcore Heinrich: Complete the game in Hardcore mode – 1.2 percent.
  • The percentages show it: Only very few owners of the RPG have secured even one of these four achievements on Steam. Reaching all four milestones is even more remarkable. By the way, the total playing time of NeedleworkerDense736 is over 105 hours. It is unclear whether every minute of that went into this run.

The successor to Kingdom Come will be dark – you can see the story trailer here:

What does hardcore mean? If you initially activate the hardcore difficulty level for Kingdome Come Deliverance, many details of the game will change. Here are the highlights:

  • Important quest progress no longer grants save status.
  • The fights are deadlier, healing potions take longer to take effect.
  • The goods from dealers and repairs are more expensive.
  • There is no fast travel anymore, Heinrich’s position is not shown on the map. Points of interest only appear on the map when you approach them.
  • There are no longer any displays for health (except in the inventory), stamina, enemy health and horse stamina.
  • You have to choose at least two from a list of negative perks.
  • By the way, a comparable hardcore mode for Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 is expected to come in spring 2025.

How does the community rate the run?

  • EltonBongJovi jokes on Reddit: “This Heinrich knows nothing but toughness in the truest sense of the word.”
  • Organic_Interview_30 sees it realistically (via Reddit): “I’m trying to get the Virgo achievement, but I can never manage to be merciful. I just love killing people too much.” There’s certainly no “in the game” there. Most certainly …
  • Alanah_V lives like Madonna (via Reddit): “I want to achieve virgin success in real life.”
  • Crispy1961 recalls on Reddit: “I did this run a few years ago and was pleasantly surprised and even impressed that it wasn’t boring. It only took me 21 hours and the game always offered an alternative to killing. I even enjoyed the troop battle sections. I used a mace and was very careful not to deliver the fatal blow. This run is only recommended […].”
  • What do I need to know about Kingdom Come? The first role-playing game from Warhorse Studios was released on February 13, 2018 and, despite some technical issues, became a surprise success. The role-playing game has 83% positive reviews on Steam.

Like part 1, the sequel, which will be released on February 4, 2025 for PC and consoles, will revolve around Heinrich, the son of a blacksmith. In both games you can expect open-world adventures from the first-person perspective, which place a great focus on the story, an authentic simulation of the game world and the role-playing experience.

The KCD series takes an old-school approach that gives you comparatively little guidance, but also gives you a lot of freedom. You can find out everything else here: Everything about the release, price, editions, system requirements, preload, roadmap and scope of Kingdom Come Deliverance 2.
