Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 players are upset because the shooter is removing a popular map from the game.
Which map is it? On December 14th, Mid-Season 1 went online in Modern Warfare 2 and it included an old map that CoD fans should be familiar with: Shipment.
The map is characterized by chaos, action and close-quarters combat, and CoD players love Shipment for it. It’s just the ideal map for quickly earning lots of experience points, unlocking weapon camouflages, or completing challenges. For this purpose, the map was played in the special “Shipment 24/7” mode, in which the name said it all.
But with Shipment, not only did the well-known feel of the popular card come to the shooter, but also a change that the players didn’t know what to think of it: Unlike in Vanguard and CoD: MW 2019, it was no longer possible to climb the containers.
What happened to Shipment now? To the horror of Shipment fans, CoD players found out on January 11th that the “Shipment 24/7” map or playlist was no longer included in Modern Warfare 2. It was removed with the playlist update and is no longer playable.
How are the players reacting? CoD players are less than thrilled that developer Infinity Ward is removing the popular card from the game. The reddit user pubgisDEAD, for example, writes with an ironic undertone: “Shipment is gone, so listen to the community.”
In the comments on the post, numerous players are not very enthusiastic about the fact that the card has to go. Many say it goes against what players want. One even believes that too many players were playing the “Shipment 24/7” mode, which caused matchmaking in the other modes to stall and the map was therefore removed.
In addition to a lot of criticism, there is also a suggestion among the players on reddit that has received a lot of encouragement. JustLawly writes: “Shipment should be a permanent mode”. He received 549 upvotes for the idea from his fellow sufferers (as of January 12, 2:00 p.m.).
In general, CoD is currently in a difficult position. Warzone 2 players even say the game is already dead.
