Players fight against cheaters in Black Ops 6 and Warzone – and are kicked out of the lobby for it

Cheaters plague the players in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone. Now individuals show how they fight against an opponent who, in their opinion, is cheating. Shortly afterwards they fly out of their lobby and receive a ban.

If a player encounters an opponent who is obviously cheating, the first thing to do is to report and block them. In Call of Duty, cheaters have now apparently managed to turn the tables. They report other players – so often at once that they could be thrown out of the lobby and receive a “shadowban”.

A shadowban means that you will be noted as a suspicious account. Players with a shadowban come into their own matchmaking and only play with and against each other. Activision Blizzard wants to separate the suspicious players directly from the unsuspicious players. This can happen, among other things, if other players report you as a cheater.

Cheaters report players 100 times with one click

How do cheaters turn the tables? On X, players and streamers report that cheaters use a tool that lets them report other players 100 times in Black Ops 6 and Warzone with one click. A user shows the function in a screenshot on X.

The many reports ensure that those affected are kicked out of the lobby and receive a shadowban.

In a clip on X, a player shows himself fighting an enemy who is firing at him. In the post he writes “We take down a cheater and I’m the one who gets a direct shadowban?”

It is unclear whether the opponent is actually cheating. What is clear, however, is that the player flies out of his lobby as soon as his fellow player has killed the opponent. The message that appears afterwards translates to something like: “You have been disconnected from the ‘Call of Duty: Black Ops 6’ servers.” And then: “You have been temporarily banned from the Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 servers.”

His choices after the report are: View Guidelines, Restart, and Quit Game.

What can I do in that case? According to Activision, temporary bans last from 48 hours to 2 weeks or longer, depending on the severity of the violation. The website provides the opportunity to report and challenge a suspension.

We don’t know at this point whether Activision is aware of the problem and will do something about it. Recently there were problems with cheaters in the ranked mode of Black Ops 6. The developers admitted that their anti-cheat is to blame:

As early as September 2024, before the release of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, one of the world’s most famous CoD players warned of declining player numbers if Activision did nothing against the cheaters.
