Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is finally out and, as in years past, PlayStation players have the advantage. Some of them are again quite worthwhile, but Xbox and PC players can also breathe a sigh of relief, because this time there is no separate mode.
What are the benefits this year? CoD MW2 is celebrating its release and PlayStation players can once again look forward to a few advantages. MeinMMO shows you what they are:
If you want to know what changes CoD MW2 in the gameplay of the shooter series, we will embed a suitable video for you:
Additional loadouts and weapon XP boost
What does the PlayStation Party Bonus bring? One exclusive addition stands out among the benefits: the PlayStation Party Bonus.
The PlayStation Party Bonus gives PlayStation players an additional 25% Weapon XP when playing in a party with other players. This bonus is active even if your teammates crossplay with you from another platform.
What are the Free Combat Packs? PlayStation players will receive free Combat Packs each season of CoD MW 2, which may include items such as operator skins, weapon blueprints, and emblems.

What do the extra loadouts bring? In addition to free combat packs, PlayStation players will also receive two additional loadout slots in which to save their custom classes. You unlock this along with the ability to create a class when you reach level 4.
Battle Pass Bundle Bonus: PlayStation players who purchase the Battle Pass Bundle will receive five additional tier skips, allowing them to skip a total of 25 tiers.
Double XP Events: There will be exclusive events every month giving PlayStation players double XP. These events will be active for 24 hours and are usually linked to other XP events – but on PS they run one day longer.
CoD MW2 does not have an exclusive mode
What have the benefits been like in the past? Although the PlayStation Party bonus in particular can be a strong advantage if it gives PlayStation players faster access to the best weapons, the advantages are comparatively small this year.
Looking at Call of Duty: Cold War, we see many advantages that have also returned in MW2. In addition to the additional loadouts and the party bonus, this also includes the double XP events and the advantages for the Battle Pass bundle. However, what is missing in MW2 and what Xbox and PC players should be happy about is an exclusive mode.
At CoD: Cold War, PlayStation players had an exclusive mode for 1 year. This was the zombie mode Onslaught, which was only playable for the other platforms 12 months after the release of the shooter.
What do you think of the PlayStation benefits? Do you find them manageable in MW2 or do you think CoD should separate from them in the future? Write it to us here on MeinMMO in the comments!
