Players discover an item in Diablo 4 that hardly anyone uses – “Never heard of it in 1,500 hours”

In Diablo 4 you can craft boss mats from other materials. However, one of these materials has apparently been forgotten by players – and some have never noticed it despite many hours of play.

What materials are involved? It’s about the Khazra Horns, which you get as drops from torment bosses, world bosses and from the “Dark Citadel”. You can exchange the horns with the alchemist for items that you can use to summon the bosses on the torment levels in Diablo 4. This is how you get the materials you need for Duriel and Andariel.

Example: To craft a Shard of Torment for Duriel, you will need:

  • 5 Khazra horns
  • 9 Living Steel
  • 4 Abstruse seals
  • 15 Cloudy Crystals
  • 50,000 gold
  • If you’ve never heard of the Khazra horns or have forgotten about them, you’re similar to those who are currently discussing them on Reddit. Others have already used the mats for crafting and find them “absolutely unnecessary”.

    “A pretty bad deal”

Why aren’t the Khazra horns used? If you look at the opinions in the post on Reddit, there are various reasons for this:

  • On the one hand, it is quite “expensive” to craft the boss mats from the horns, because: You not only need the horns, but other boss mats, such as living steel, plus crafting mats and 50,000 gold per item. It is more worthwhile to farm the bosses for the mats.
  • You use a lot of materials when crafting, which is simply not worth it. im_just_thinking writes: “You turn a bunch of the existing boss mats into very little of the other boss mats – and you also use up crafting mats in the process.”
  • You lose the chance for Mythic Uniques because you miss the bosses that you would otherwise kill for the Mats. The coveted mythical items have a small chance of dropping from all torment bosses. That’s “a pretty bad deal,” says the creator of the post.
  • The Khazrahorns have been in Diablo 4 for a few seasons, and many players say in the comments: They have never heard of them. shinzakuro writes: “1,500 hours of playtime, everything done, no idea what it is or what it does.” And Adventurous_Ad_4145 also missed the existence of the item: “I’m not trying to be funny, but I have over 500 hours in this game, read tons of stuff and still never heard of it.”

“It’s okay if you want to be lazy”

Then what are the horns good for? In fact, there are other opinions in the comments. xxzincxx writes: “I find it useful – out of sheer laziness – for the echo of Varshan, because I didn’t need anything from the boss.” And Ayuvii thinks: “If you want to be a little lazy, maybe that’s it at that moment quite okay. But I think it’s something superfluous that should just be removed.”

Other users thought it would be more useful if the horns could be used to make specific mats, such as any material made from 5-10 Khazra horns. “It would be much more useful if you could convert Mats into ones of the same rarity. I always have more broken pieces than eggs. It would be great if I could convert some shards into eggs to balance the quantities,” writes irresponsibleadult80.

Do you use the Khazra horns out of “laziness” or because you already have tons of them? Or do you prefer to farm the bosses to get the materials? Where the Diablo 4 community has been anything but lazy is the winter event that is currently underway. Because the players have already managed to unlock the last milestone – and you can all collect the cool rewards now. You can find out what they are here: Diablo 4 brings a winter event with big rewards – for the best one you have to slaughter 40 million treasure goblins
