A Diablo 4 player has made it his mission to find out at which tier level you have to tackle Nightmare dungeons in order to have the best chance of getting good loot. Over the course of 18 days, he completed 400 dungeons between tier levels 21 and 100 and collected more than 8,000 items. His conclusion: Instead of level 100, you should aim for level 65.
What kind of experiment was that?
Tier level 40 is the first important threshold in dungeons
What did he find out? You can read the exact evaluation and results of his self-study here.
The summarized findings are:
Tier level 65 should be a good goal for many players in Diablo 4
What does that mean in brief? You should farm a Nightmare Dungeon at tier level 40 or higher, as long as you can comfortably progress through a dungeon at that level.
However, there is little point in increasing your tier level significantly if it takes you much longer to do so.
As PC Gamer writes, this is “counter-intuitive” because it assumes that tier level 100 would be particularly worthwhile. But the statistics say that this is not the case.
In higher tiers you get more items, but not necessarily better ones. In return, a tier 100 dungeon takes significantly longer than a tier 40 dungeon. For most players, staying somewhere around tier 65 will probably pay off.
