Players are looking forward to CoD MW3 even more because they now have to play the predecessor again

After the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 beta, many players returned to MW2. A player now states on Reddit: In his opinion, the predecessor really stinks.

On Reddit, Call of Duty players are currently making a comparison between the beta of Modern Warfare 3 and last year’s predecessor, Modern Warfare 2. The user “Goldhawk_1” writes there: “Holy crap, MW2 is totally bad in comparison .”

In the comments, the community is currently discussing the advantages and disadvantages of the two shooters. The topics discussed there include skill-based matchmaking, movement and the sounds in the game.

As far as matchmaking is concerned, this is what your CoD lobby could look like in real life. At least if your squad consisted of rappers, CoD icons and basketball professionals:

“Amazing, no comparison to MW2”

Why can’t MW2 keep up for the player? In his October 21 post, “Goldhawk_1” writes in the Modern Warfare 3 subreddit that he finds its predecessor “so much worse.” He wanted to play MW2 in the meantime until MW3 was released and was happy that the successor would be released soon.

This is what he writes in the post:

The regeneration of life points takes time [in MW2] a month of Sundays.

Somehow everyone knows where you are right away, maybe it has something to do with the stomping sound of everyone’s boots louder than the damn gunfire.

People actually complained about the hit detection in the MW3 beta, but in every single game of MW2 you die in one shot. And you fire like six shots at the guy who fired a shot at you before he even knew you were there.

In comparison, this is simply incredible. The quality of the matches is not even remotely comparable.

This is what other players say about it: In the comments, players are currently discussing the two titles in the shooter series. Many are looking forward to the release of MW3 and are cautiously optimistic. Others criticize a few aspects they noticed during the beta.

We have summarized a few voices for you:

  • “oneonus” says: “Audio and visuals in MW3 are awesome, no comparison to MW2.”
  • “TSM-HabZ” writes: “I like both for different reasons, because they are different games.”
  • “PopticParticlezz” says: “I enjoyed the movement more in MW3.” To which spideyjiri replies: “I enjoyed being able to see when shooting.”
  • MozM writes: “The only thing I literally hate about it is how ridiculously boring the sniper rifles look. I hope they change their designs immediately. A sniper shouldn’t look like an AK or an M4.”
  • “mydibz” writes: “Health regeneration? “Laugh in hardcore mode”
  • “nicideadpool” comments: “We’ll see when the honeymoon is over.”
  • “It’s like moving back into your own apartment”

In another post on Reddit on October 22, user “zipzoopu” asked how the gameplay in the MW3 beta compares to its predecessor, MW2, for people who have played both.

The community draws these comparisons: User “AbbeRezz” comments: “The gameplay is generally [in MW3] Better and faster, the weapon customization is extremely similar to MW2.” Another user writes: “10000% better, feels like a CoD again.”

For “partyingwithcats,” MW3 feels “like moving into your own apartment after living with roommates for ages.”

“knightmare1434” finds the movement sequences in MW3 to be more fluid and the weapon handling easier. “But that was in beta and could change when the game comes out,” he writes. The weapon and hit sounds sound better to him in MW3. However, for him the SBMM is “crap”, as is the spawn system.

CODninjarin writes: “The gameplay is fluid, it has much faster movements. The gunplay takes a bit of getting used to because the time-to-kill is longer, but that doesn’t bother me personally. Overall it feels more “arcade” than MW2. Reminds me of older CODs, but that could just be nostalgia.”

Speaking of nostalgia. MW3 starts on November 10th with 16 classic maps from Call of Duty from 2009 – including voting. The well-known maps, many of which are among the players’ favorites, provide fans of the series with nostalgic feelings:
