Three bottles of an energy drink and a backpack have now sold for more than €150,000 on eBay. A player of the online shooter Fortnite won the prize via a special map.
What kind of action was that?
Fortnite does collaborations with practically everyone, be it Lego or difficult YouTubers:
How could you take part in the competition? The code to play on the special Fortnite map was 5884-5358-0228.
The price was 3 bottles of energy drink, which was only available as such
What kind of price was that? At first glance, the price seems surprisingly unspectacular:
A bottle of Prime Hydration costs around €2.50 in stores – the backpack might sell for €30. So in total this is a prize worth around €40.
However, these special drinks are not available to buy in stores, but are limited editions.
These 3 bottles were for the competition only. They symbolized the “Red vs. Blue” fight on Fortnite.
If you wanted to know what these special mixtures taste like, you had to win the competition – or dig deep into your wallet, because suddenly these drinks were for sale.
Huge demand and bidding war for Fortnite bottles
This is what the price has now become: One of the winners of the Fortnite tournament has come forward and listed its price on UK eBay as a “Limited Edition”.
It was said: “Over 100,000 were beaten to win these bottles.”
And the demand for the 3 bottles actually seems to be huge. Although the competition only took place in January 2024, the bidding was overwhelming and the 3 bottles and the backpack went for over 131,700 British pounds after more than 200 bids. That’s around €154,339.23.
Even Prime’s inventor, KSI, has to cringe at the prices.
€50,000 per bottle would probably be an expensive refreshment
It is not known whether the buyer bought the bottles himself immediately for €50,000 each, or whether he kept them cold so that they might sell them for even more in a few years.
In any case, the purchase has caused quite a stir among collectors of energy drinks that actually exist.
Before MontanaBlack can call prices like this for his Gönrgy, a few energy drinks will probably have to flow down the players’ throats.
One thing is clear, no one should insult his drink:
