In Season 3 of Diablo 4 you have a mechanical companion – the Seneschal. A player has now listed the best combinations to make him really strong and useful.
The “Season of the Construct” brought several new features to Diablo 4. The main feature is the Seneschal, a mechanical companion that you can customize with different stones. So you can make him a tank, a healer, or a damage dealer with different skills.
Finding the right combination of skills can be a big challenge for some players. User “Failroth” shared a useful list on Reddit on January 26th that will help you get the most out of your Seneschal.
Many players confirm that the combinations actually work well and thank you for the clear overview. We have translated and summarized the list for you.
Storm chaser combinations
What is the Storm Chaser ability? The Storm Chaser Attunement Stone gives an enemy an electrical charge, causing them to damage themselves and other enemies every second. After the enemy dies, Storm Chaser jumps to another enemy and receives a longer duration and additional bonus damage.
The ability is also extremely fast and doesn’t miss. You get the Storm Chaser Stone primarily from the “Herald of Malphas” at world level 4.

Up to 15% increased critical strike chance for the player character

Reliable chance of being “vulnerable”

You can fill the missing spaces with other stones as you wish. For example: Storm Chaser + Arc Support + Efficiency Support + Burn Support = up to 15% critical strike chance and burn damage to enemies – a solid choice for a sorceress.

Combos for solid damage
“Failroth” points out in his Reddit post that the damage potential is not extreme and drops off in high nightmare dungeons. Still, it works well enough as a secondary skill to the Storm combos above.
Firefly + Stinging Support + Multishot Support + Seeking Support
Up to 5 fireflies seek out enemies, deal explosive damage and jump to other enemies. However, it is slow.
Ambush + Arc Support + 2 of Hurtige/Burn/Poison/etc
Repeated strikes that deal single target damage (up to 11 hits) and apply increasing damage over time.
Support combinations
Protection + Tactical Support + Continuous Support
Up to 50% health as a barrier, with a potential cooldown of 12 seconds and a duration of 9 seconds

The Seneschal teleports to you before using the ability. This allows him to keep up with you a little better (but not much).

General combinations for the endgame
Adrenaline Rush + Tactical Support + Continuous Support + Genesis
Theoretically permanent damage buff of 50% (multiplicative)
Storm Chaser + Efficiency Support + Backup Support + Evernight
Permanent +4 bonus to all skills, 15% damage reduction, and 15% additional critical strike chance on a small number of targets
Notes on individual voting stones
Initiative Support: Teleport cooldown drops to 0 seconds at max rank, meaning the companion will be teleported to the target every time. This allows it to compete extremely well when socketed on a commonly used skill.
Duration Support: This voting stone also influences the duration of other voting stones, such as: B. Security support or mockery support. This increases the duration of Backup Support to 7 seconds, which could allow it to be used in a combination of support skills.
Genesis: If attunement stones can influence the effectiveness of other attunement stones (as the examples above suggest), according to “Failroth” it might be possible to combine Immernacht and Genesis for +10 to all skills (untested and unlikely of course)
More tips about the stones
In his Reddit post, “Failroth” gives a few tips for the Seneschal and we have expanded them a little:
Learn the trap patterns in the large trap rooms at the end of the vaults. They are always the same when you go through the same dungeons. So pay attention to the names.
The last trap room in the vaults in particular can cost you a lot of protection stacks. If you’re having trouble, focus on the stone vault as they are said to have the easiest final room. The Ember Vaults aren’t that bad either.
The Herald of Malphas events can net you around 40+ pearls per hour if you find an area where multiple people take turns summoning. Try to find the area where the seasonal quests for the Tree of Whispers are active and you’ll probably stumble upon a group doing so.
Each dungeon run will refund 4 pearls. If you use 5 pearls per run, the net cost is only 1 pearl per run.
Trap rooms always have dead spots where nothing can hit you except enemies. Ranged fighters in particular should take advantage of this to protect their stacks.
In Nightmare Vaults, when in doubt, choose to die rather than fall into a trap. You are allowed to die 5 times, but with less than 15 stacks of protection you will receive less loot. This is especially true in the fight against the Butcher, who likes to try to push you into traps.
The chests require 10 stacks of protection (WT4), or 4 (WT3), or one (normal) – keep this in mind when calculating how many stacks you have left.
The Seneschal is the mechanic in Season 3 that allows you to make your character stronger in addition to skills and equipment. A different combination of stones can be strong for each build.
