There is often complaining and complaining in the Diablo 4 subreddit. A player received Blizzard’s ARPG as a Christmas present and is asking for tips on how to get started – and the answers are much nicer than you would think.
Reddit is a popular place to go for Diablo 4 players. Some use the platform to complain about the limited field of view, others criticized the spawn times of the world boss in the summer because the spawn times clash with their own regular working hours. Endgame content is also a recurring topic.
A player received Diablo 4 for Christmas and took to the subreddit to ask for tips on getting started with the game. Based on the threads, you’d think a tip would be, “Just ask if you can exchange the game.” But he actually gets a lot of good and helpful answers.
“Just stay away from the damn subreddit!”
What do the players answer? In the Reddit post on December 25, user “Mosasaurus999” wrote that Diablo 4 was his first Diablo and that he was “super hyped” to play it with a friend. When he asks for tips and tricks for beginners, people give him one main advice: not to listen to the haters who complain about the game.
One user recommends checking out maxroll.gg. The site is run by experts who, among other things, create tier lists for builds in Diablo 4. The user “acog” replies: “It’s fun to experiment with the builds. If you feel like your character isn’t strong enough, there are tier lists and detailed guides for both leveling (1-49) and endgame (level 50-100).”
ShadowSwoopz recommends staying away from this subreddit and enjoying the game in your own way. He can use build guides, but he should just stay away from this “goddamn subreddit”.
Other users recommend that he play the campaign first, as it is worthwhile and has great cutscenes. A user advises him to uncover all Lilith altars; he didn’t do that and regretted it very much.
“allen_mglt” writes: “Enjoy the game. […] Just equip the items that have higher stats. And make sure your mouse is suitable for this, it’s a lot of clicking LOL.” Another user notes that you can also just hold down the keys.
Other users advise him to just play. Join a clan, make friends and not stress about the loot.
But Reddit isn’t always just about complaining and complaining. Some players manage to cheer up the otherwise negative community through their contributions. A player tricked his wife into Diablo 4 and was able to lighten the mood in the otherwise negative subreddit with the story.
