A player of Blizzard’s new Hack’n Slay Diablo 4 tells a story that is both pretty and somehow pathetic. He met a wonderful and strong ice sorceress, fell in love immediately and followed her heels. Others, however, do not comment quite so warmly.
In this pathetic situation, one player got stuck: A player describes on reddit that he had maneuvered himself into a hopeless situation in Diablo 4:
Beaten and exhausted, I was about to give up. Screw it, I’m just going back to world tier 3 and grinding my way up until I can beat tier 4.”
Player meets “beautiful goddess”, follows her like a puppy
That changed the situation: The player writes that when he was totally down, “she appeared out of nowhere, my savior… my goddess.”
Unlike him, who only shed blood and died through world-tier 4, she was a “beautiful level 71 Ice Sorceress” who melted away hordes of enemies as if they were only level 30.
The player writes: He felt dirty, but henceforth he followed her heels, chasing her, careful not to die lest he lose her. He attached himself to her like a blood-sucking leech, leaking EXP and items. He quickly replaced his 702 gloves with 798s.
He was also a lovely puppy, he says. Every time an item dropped, he would do a “thank you” emote – and he felt like his goddess had caught a glimpse of him for obediently following her.
The player likens his behavior to a “stray dog looking for a bone.”
This was the highlight: The sorceress prepared to go into a dungeon. Because he wasn’t in a group with her, that meant saying goodbye for him.
So he pointed to the dungeon and made a “no”. But the miracle happened: the sorceress answered “yes” and invited him to the group.
Ultimately, the man is blown away. He writes: I met a stranger in the open world, we grinded some items together. We had a great time. great person I hope she reads this. He will never forget her.
Reddit wants to take away his illusion, but he refuses
What’s the cool answer from reddit? The top comment is:
This isn’t a you. This is a fat guy with hair on his neck who cosplays as a sorceress because the male model looks like shit.
But the player replies: “To me is a beautiful goddess – no matter what you say.”
Men playing female characters in online games? That’s shocking. At first I didn’t want to believe that such a thing existed. But maybe the Reddit user is on to something really hot:
Survey surprisingly reveals: Many women in MMORPGs are actually men
