The Pit is the new content in Diablo 4 that has dominated the endgame since Season 4. In increasingly difficult levels, you fight against a timer and receive materials for crafting as a reward. A player tries to make the farm as efficient as possible instead of pushing it as far as possible – with success.
This is the performance:
The user StickyPine207 on Reddit has optimized his farm build for the group with his barbarian. He needs just 56 seconds to complete the dungeon – including the final boss:
This is the build: StickyPine207 plays a Barbarian and uses a Whirlwind build. Whirlwind Barbarians are only in the A tier on the tier list with the best builds, but are extremely strong for farming in the pit.
The player uses a build that deviates slightly from the “norm”. He sacrifices mobility in favor of more damage by replacing jumping and stomping with Berserker’s Wrath and Blood Spike:
In addition, the player uses the Elixir of Holy Bolts, which is available exclusively in Season 4. When enemies are killed, this shoots holy bolts that damage all enemies in the area.
The rest of the gameplay consists mainly of buffs and whirlwinds, i.e. “Spin to Win”, which has been part of the class fantasy for barbarians since at least Diablo 2. You can find the build with all items and stats on d4builds.gg.
Class balance concerns the community
Although StickyPine207’s videos are certainly getting recognition, some users can’t help but point out the barbarian’s absurd strength. Even the player admits: After playing a druid, the barbarian feels so much more powerful.
In the comments, one can cynically say, “Hey Blizzard, barbarians look too weak. Can you please buff them?” The discussion has been going on for weeks, as barbarians can boast absurd levels of strength that other classes can never match.
Class balance has been a controversial topic in the community since the release of Diablo 4. Back then, barbarians were considered too weak, but now they are the undisputed kings of the tier list.
Whether this will change with Season 5 remains to be seen. At the moment, the changes are being tested on the PTR and there have been adjustments for all classes. Actually, everyone should have become stronger as a result, but according to initial observations, this has not quite worked out: Blizzard is buffing all classes in Diablo 4 with Season 5, but one is even weaker: “40% less damage”
