There’s a lot of attention to detail in the new Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. A Reddit user found this out when he confronted the game characters with “naked facts” and received individual reactions. He shared his find with the community.
wait, he’s doing what? In Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Nintendo gave players a lot of freedom. But as gamers are like that, of course they do a lot of mischief with it. For example, the build feature led to numerous phallic creations.
A player who is on Reddit under the name “acidhouses” is pursuing his very own mission: He puts his link in an extremely skimpy outfit and documents how the NPCs he encounters react to the sight.
On Reddit, he shares the results in a four-part series under “Things people say when Link is naked.” It turns out that some residents of Hyrule have strong moral concepts.
Not that he catches a cold!
What are the characters saying? The reactions to the sight of Link’s half-naked body are quite different: while some only dryly comment on the unusual state of clothing (“Except for the underwear, huh?”), others ask the hero to please put something on.
Of course, acidhouses’ action requires you to make it past the tutorial, which not everyone can do in the new Zelda game.
We have integrated one of the galleries, each of which contains around 20 screenshots, for you here. Even if nothing explicit can be seen, a cautious “nsfw” applies at this point – because nobody wants to have to explain that to their boss.
How do you come up with such an idea? For acidhouses, it was probably force of habit. The Reddit user explained to the US site GameRant that in other games, such as the Souls series or WoW, he usually plays characters without armor.
In Tears of a Kingdom he then did exactly the same thing and encountered the reactions of the inhabitants of Hyrule. He also revealed that the series was originally only planned as a three-part series, but eager commentators pointed to so many more reactions that he now has material for at least a fifth part.
The funny dialogues show how much effort the developers have put into giving the NPCs in the game their own personalities. This is particularly interesting because a not inconsiderable part of the players will probably never see all the individual reactions.
David Jaffe, the creator of God of War, doesn’t care, however, as he publicly criticizes the game’s graphics:
