In the MMORPG Black Desert, a guild leader complains about his suffering: his guild was stolen from. Materials worth €10,000 are missing that took years to collect.
This is what the guild leader says: Shortly before Christmas, on December 20th, the troubled guild leader laments his suffering:
The problem is known, but apparently hasn’t been fixed for years
How is this discussed? Apparently this is a known problem in Black Desert: The “normal feature” that we know from MMORPGs, limiting access to the guild bank and only giving roles that you trust, has been missing from MMORPGs for years.
It is believed that this is because it is a purely Western problem because this is the only place where players are anonymous. In South Korea, Black Desert’s home country, everyone has to register with their social security number, so theft like this doesn’t happen. But Pearl Abyss doesn’t care about problems that only affect servers in North America and Europe, says one user on reddit.
A player explains: Until a few years ago everyone thought there were restrictions on the guild bank, but then a trend of players robbing the bank emerged, but the trend faded and so did the memory of it.
But the problem itself was never fixed.
In general, players are horrified that the MMORPG lacks these basic mechanics of MMORPGs, many don’t even want to admit it.
A player gives the tip: You should create twinks and store valuable materials on them. Apparently they aren’t safe in the guild bank.
Normally, robbing your guild takes a lot more effort:
