Player gets one of the best items from a merchant – “Chance is probably 0.0001%”

Mythical items are the rarest items in Diablo 4. A player was lucky and got one from a dealer – the community is sure: the chance of this must be very small.

With Season 5, the developers revised the affixes of many Uber Uniques and changed the name to “mythic uniques”. Mythic uniques are even rarer than “normal” uniques. Here you can find an overview of all mythics.

The best chance of getting a Mythic is from the Duriel and Andariel bosses, but they can also drop outside of them. A player on Reddit shows his strong drop, which he got from a rather unusual source: the “Tyrael’s Might” chest armor.

Tyrael’s Might is a mythical chest armor that all five classes can equip.

Where did he get the Mythic? He got the Mythic from the curio dealer. At the dealer, you can “gamble” for various items with the obolus you have collected. You then receive the selected item category with a random rarity level. In concrete terms, this means: You choose a category, such as boots, and then receive magical, rare and/or legendary boots.

You can also get loot in the reputation system in Season 5 of Diablo 4 – even if you have already reached the maximum level there:

Mythical Drop from the Gambler

In the comments of the Reddit post, users are discussing the veracity of the story. Some say it must be “fake” because the creator writes that he gambled for boots and received a chest protector.

The user checkoutthishat emphasizes that he himself cannot explain how this was possible. He explains that the Mythic is at the top of the inventory by saying that he sorted it after gambling.

This is what the community says: In the comments, detestableduck13 writes: “This has to be either complete nonsense or a 0.0001% chance…” But hotprints explains that something like this can happen:

In the campfire chat before the season started, the developers said that this is how it would work. It will roll a (very, very small) chance of a mythic. If the slot you’re trying to get has a mythic in it, it will be that mythic. If not, then it will be a random mythic. There are no mythic boots, so it gave him a random mythic.

User yxalitis says: “I think you’re probably one of the few this season who got anything decent from the Gambler.” And Whythen agrees. He writes that he spent around 8-10k obols on the Gambler this season and got maybe 6 legendaries. The rest were rare and magical.

Can this really happen? In the patch notes for Season 5, the developers write that Uniques and Mythic Uniques can also be found in Whisper Chests, from Curio Vendors, and in Tormented Gifts in the Helltide. Furthermore, the chance of obtaining Mythic Uniques from non-boss sources has been increased.

With Season 5, the developers not only revised the uniques, but also brought a new endgame activity into the game. In the Hell Hordes you collect “Burning Aether”, which you can use to open various chests at the end. Players were very lucky with their drops there too.
