Player finds one of the rarest items in the content that most ignore

The Mythic Uniques are the rarest items in Diablo 4. You get them from certain bosses – and with a lot of luck outside of them too. One player was very lucky and received a mythic unique from a content that many ignore.

What are Mythics? Until Season 5 in Diablo 4, Mythic Uniques were called Uber Uniques. These are powerful, rare items that make many builds even stronger, or even stronger. Mythic Uniques are even rarer than “normal” Uniques. Here you can find an overview of all Mythics.

You have the best chance of getting a mythic from the bosses Duriel and Andariel – it is even higher if you fight the bosses in the “Tormented” version at level 200. However, the mythic uniques can also drop outside of this. One player was lucky because he received a mythic ring from a chest in the “Whispering Tree”.

You can also get chests in the reputation system in Season 5 of Diablo 4 – even if you have already reached the maximum level there:

Mythical drop from the “Whispering Tree”

What did the player get? In a post on Reddit, “MicRo_Mnager” shows his loot drop, which he apparently got from a box from the “Whispering Tree”. Among them are several legendaries, boss mats, a compass for the Hell Hordes and a mythical ring.

Since there is currently only one Mythic Ring, it is the Ring of the Starless Sky, which all classes can equip. The ring increases your resistance to all types of damage, your attack speed, your critical hit chance, your lucky hit chance, and gives you ranks on core skills. It also reduces resource costs and increases your damage.

Which content is often ignored? The bounties for the Whispering Tree allow you to farm gold, mats and items. However, the bounties are spread across different areas of the map – and are time-limited.

Once you have collected 10 points, you must also teleport to the Whispering Tree to exchange the points for a chest. If you don’t exchange it, you won’t collect any more points. This back and forth can be time-consuming.

However, with Season 5, another activity came into Diablo 4 where you can farm: the Hell Hordes. The more “Burning Aether” you collect there during the monster waves, the more gold, mats or items you get at the end. You can choose between the rewards and, for example, only invest your aether in mats or gold when you are in short supply. One player exchanged his aether for almost 150 million gold in a Hell Hordes playthrough.

For the amount of gold, you would have to complete a few bounties for the Whispering Tree, which would simply take longer than the Hell Horde runs. The Hell Hordes are also more worthwhile for the loot. At the end, you can open a chest that drops items with large affixes (1.5x as strong as normal affixes).

Where else do the Mythics drop besides the bosses? But other players were also lucky and had Mythic Uniques drop completely by chance. One player reported in a post on Reddit that he received the Ring of the Starless Sky from a chest in the Nightmare Dungeon.

The “Infinite Reward Chests” of the reputation system in Season 5 are also worth it, because that’s how another player got a Mythic. In his post on Reddit, he shows the unique “Ahavarion Staff of Lycander” (for wizards and druids). He writes: “A little reminder! Open these chests regularly to get the great rewards.”

The “Mother’s Gift” reputation system came with Season 5 in Diablo 4 and is a promising way to get loot and mats. This time, however, the grind doesn’t end with the last level, because you can just keep collecting after that.
