Player feels harassed by CoD Warzone – Doesn’t realize he was caught by the anti-cheat system

There are still cheaters in Call of Duty: Warzone, but the developers have introduced a system to expose them. One of the cheaters seemed confused because he didn’t realize he was caught.

Some players are caught cheating live in the stream while dancing exuberantly on the chair. Others post clips on X because they feel “bullied” – and it becomes obvious that they are cheating.

The user “des” posted a clip on X (formerly Twitter) on January 3rd and wrote “Why are they bullying me?” In the short video you can see how “des” jumps out of the plane at the beginning of his match in Warzone and flies towards the ground at lightning speed.

Apparently he can’t pull out his parachute in time, hits the ground and is knocked out

The parachute is deactivated “randomly and for fun”.

Why can’t he pull out his parachute? Normally in CoD: Warzone you can activate your parachute at any time when you are in the air. The system also engages automatically shortly before the ground at the latest. Here, however, the player “des” could neither activate the parachute manually nor did it deploy automatically – and there is a reason for that.

On November 9, 2023, the developers wrote in the “Call of Duty” blog that they have developed a new trick in Warzone that they call “Splat”. With this you can deactivate the parachutes of cheaters that the anti-cheat system has discovered “randomly and for fun”.

As a result, the players race towards the ground after the start of the match and crash into each other. If the cheaters are only discovered after the match has started, this will affect their falling speed. Even small jumps can be fatal.

“des” obviously benefited from both cases. As he crashes he says “What the hell is happening here?” You can see his clip here:

Why aren’t cheaters banned straight away? The developers write on the CoD blog that cheaters are often removed immediately when they are detected. However, sometimes measures “to minimize their influence are used to collect information about the account and the cheat hardware used.”

“You have exposed yourself.”

This is how the community reacts: There are numerous comments under his clip on X in which users note that he was obviously cheating. The anti-cheat system discovered him and punished him with the deactivated parachute. The note on context was added to his post. The note refers to the new function of the “Splat”.

Several users write in the comment: “You have exposed yourself.”, and some post clown emotes and GIFs. Others post a screenshot of the description of the “Splat” feature from the CoD blog in their comments.

The user “4RealBr0k” writes: “This is the new troll from [dem Anti-Cheat-System] Ricochet and it’s funny to see him with someone who doesn’t know him.”

The developers also write on the blog that it is a misunderstanding that frequent reporting of alleged cheaters leads to action. Only the first report counts.

Some players are certainly also wrongly reported, for example because their aim assist is so strong that you might think they have activated a cheat: Player shows how strong the aim assist is in CoD Warzone – Aim through the wall on opponents in the building
