Blue Protocol has been playable in Japan for around two weeks. For us in the west, however, the MMORPG will not appear on Steam, Xbox and PS5 until 2024. A player who has already reached a high level in Japan now says on reddit that the postponement was the only thing to do – and explains why.
Who can play Blue Protocol? On June 14, the MMORPG finally appeared in Japan and was able to set records there. Shortly before the release, however, Bandai Namco and Amazon announced that the game should not appear with us until next year.
With one or two little tricks you can cheat your way onto the Japanese servers and play the MMORPG. However, you have to reckon with the fact that your account could be banned.
However, one fan of the MMORPG has not yet been banned. He fought his way into Blue Protocol’s endgame and is glad the game is coming out later.
Too little content for a release
What does the user say? In a post on the MMORPG Reddit, he explains why he would consider a global release in June a mistake. He explains that while the game is fun and has a lot of good points, at some point it “starts doing things wrong”.
In his opinion, Bandai and Amazon should use the time to tweak the following areas and improve the game for global release:
In the end, he concludes: While we’re all hungry for new MMOs, Bandai and Amazon made the right decision in postponing the game. If it came to us today in its current form, you wouldn’t be playing for 3 weeks.
“How much does the creator think the developers can make in a few months?”
How are people reacting? The thread is only semi-well received in reddit, but is primarily discussed heavily. Although the post currently only has 58 upvotes, it has over 80 comments, in which a wide variety of opinions can be found.
Many of the comments primarily criticize the heavy monetization in Japan. However, it should not be forgotten that this can still change massively in the West. Amazon has already saved a lot here with Lost Ark.
But even apart from that, there are some people who contradict the creator of the thread, in both directions. There are comments that praise the game to the skies, but also those that are of the opinion that even a postponement cannot save Blue Protocol.
What are the fans saying? We would like to give you some of the comments under the thread here. They come from the MMORPG reddit:
What do you say to that? Do you like the shift? Do you think Amazon can solve the monetization problem for Blue Protocol in the West?
Our editor Alexander Leitsch has also tried Blue Protocol and says it will be the best MMORPG of the last 9 years.
