Player complains on Steam because he was “unfairly” banned, but the developers show that it is his own fault

It happens again and again that players are banned in various games even though they haven’t made any mistakes. A Legion TD 2 player also thought he was innocent, but was quickly brought back down to earth and the community celebrates it.

Why did the player complain? In his negative review on Steam of the multiplayer tower defense game Legion TD 2, a player wrote about his ban in the game and claimed he was innocent.

He himself writes:

You will be reported for pushing workers and not disabling auto-send in an auto-chill mode, which makes no sense. You will then be suspended for the above-mentioned reports. Imagine suspending a player for auto-sending in an auto-send mode.

However, the developers of the game read the negative review and did not want to leave the player’s statements uncommented. The interaction made it to Reddit again and the community is amused.

Streamers also have to struggle with bans on Twitch again and again:

Developers react to the review and are celebrated for it

How did the developers react? The player’s negative review is now making its rounds on Reddit, as the developers did not miss the opportunity to respond to the player’s claims – and it is precisely this reaction from the developers that is causing enthusiasm among many users.

In their response on January 16, 2024, the developers write:

Hi […] I looked at your account and you were:

  • Banned 4 times for leaving games
  • Banned 3 times in chat for toxicity
  • Banned 0 times for being reported or pushing workers or not disabling auto-send
  • via Steam

In their response, the developers then cited some offensive statements the player made in a game a few days earlier before leaving the game before the end of the match.

Finally, the developers politely pointed out to him that he could avoid being banned from games if he didn’t simply leave games, and that his ban had nothing to do with any reports.

How is the whole thing received by the community? The developers’ response is now being celebrated on Reddit. For example, the user “Nimchy” writes that this is the most professional way someone can say: “Cut the nonsense.” Many users seem to agree with this opinion, as the comment received 2,800 upvotes.

In another comment, user rW0HgFyxoJhYka writes that it’s nice to see that toxic players are finally being held accountable.

User Punkreas33 writes: “I wish more developers would respond to useless reviews like this.” However, he gets the answer from user Tethim that in 99% of cases this would just be a waste of time and money and that you should just ignore something like that and move on.

There was also a similar situation in Call of Duty recently. One player thought he was being bullied by the shooter and shared a clip on X.com. But in the clip it was clear that the game’s anti-cheat system was getting to him: Player feels harassed by CoD Warzone – Doesn’t notice that he was caught by the anti-cheat system
