PlatinumGames asks Microsoft to revive the project

Great frustration among Xbox players, Scalebound is a cursed game, we don’t teach you anything. If the reasons for its cancellation still remain “secret-defense”, it seems that on the side of PlatinumGames, we are trying to bury the hatchet. Admittedly, Microsoft has always claimed that the cancellation of the game did not tarnish relations between the two parties, but some rumors have long spoken of artistic disputes. However, the title could perhaps resurface if the two entities manage to find new ground, of agreement. It is indeed on the occasion of a interview with IGN Japan than Astushi Inaba (CEO of PlatinumGames) and Hideki Kamiya (game designer in the same studio) expressed their desire to relaunch the project, with the added bonus of a cry from the heart launched in the direction of Phil Spencer, the big boss of the Xbox brand.

Astushi Inaba: Hideki Kamiya always wanted to do Scalebound. So we would like to have a real discussion with Microsoft.

Hideki Kamiya: We had been working on it a lot, and there’s no point in Microsoft keeping the game in its current state, so we’d like to do something about it (laughs). Phil, let’s do it together!

With the fervor swirling around Microsoft lately, the big takeovers, the success of the Xbox Game Pass, it is therefore not forbidden for Phil Spencer to reconsider the proposal, knowing that a Japanese partner in the equation is a luxury that Microsoft can afford. This would also make it possible to please a certain community of players, very disappointed to see such a game being put aside, especially when we discovered it at gamescom 2015 and which had clearly caused a sensation. So, we cross our fingers, we knock on wood so that the project gets done.
