Plastic bit in Fazers Frökuse Surprised Customer

“If I had swallowed this one I don’t know how it had gone” • Get no explanation from the food giant

The evening coffee became an unexpected experience for Bengt Kempe from Östersund when he suddenly bit in a sharp piece of plastic.
Quickly a concern was caused to what could happen – but after several attempts he has not yet received an explanation from Fazer that manufactures the bread.
– If I had swallowed this, I do not know how it had gone, he tells TV4 News.

It was during the evening coffee that Bengt Kempe made the unpleasant discovery. When he usually ate a sandwich from Fazer’s frozen, he suddenly discovered a large piece of plastic in the middle of the chew.

– It was full of small pieces of plastic and so this big piece of plastic that went out. I was a little upset, he says.

He says that he immediately spit out the bread and both he and his wife saw that the plastic pieces were both sharp and soft at the same time and not in the same material as the bread bag.

Could have gone bad

Bengt Kempe is afraid of what could happen if he had swallowed the plastic – not to mention the consequences if young children had the plastic bit.

– If I had swallowed this, I don’t know how it had gone, he says.

At the same time, Frökuses is a big favorite and he has long been a recurring customer – but now he does not feel very craving the bread anymore.

– I will never buy any bread from Fazer anymore, it is clear.

No response from Fazer

The day after the incident, Bengt Kempe contacted the store where the bread was purchased. According to him, the store has said that they should contact Fazer. They also offered him compensation if he came in with the item, but Bengt Kempe chose to retain the proof.

– Then I thought that it should not go so easy. If I bring the stuff to the store, they are gone late.

He himself has contacted Fazer but despite repeated attempts he has not yet received any feedback.

– It was an automatic answering machine who said “unfortunately we cannot take the conversation today, try again later”. Then I got so damn less.

TV4 News has been in contact with Fazer who claims that they have not received any report on the incident.

“We cannot speculate on a conceivable explanation of what has happened if we have not first carried out a proper analysis of the case. If foreign objects have been discovered in one of our product bags, this is something we are seriously looking at,” Ebba Beck-Friis writes, press contact for Fazer Sweden in an email to the TV4 news.
